Excellently told
A much misunderstood deity in the Hindu patheon, especially owing to his association with death and destruction, it is impressive how the author has taken it upon themselves to demystify such a mysterious godly figure. This book not only places emphasis on the importance of his union with Parvathy, by looking at Shiva as a family man and a loving husband but also as a father, aspects of him that are present in the traditional stories but aren't emphasised on enough. It's a really tender story and a lovely book. My son, who happens to be named after Shiva, loves this and all the other books in the series to bits! Would recommend to everyone looking for a good book for their child(ren).

An engaging story perfect for young ones
Got this book for my 5 year old niece who is a fan of this series. I think this one has become her favourite out of all the books. Shiva is a tough one to write for young children because of the nature of his stories. But this book does a wonderful job of narrating some interesting mythical stories about Shiva in a child-friendly and engaging way. The illustrations are fun and very cute! We really liked the particularly cute style of the illustrations that showed the various stories that were narrated by Shiva. This is a charming, interesting and beautifully illustrated book that is perfect for 3 to 5 year olds!

Good Book
Good Book. The copy which I received had a little faded away print. Most likely that will happen over time as I have seen that personally with other books which I have bought in the series. Otherwise, no issues. In fact all the other books in the series are equally appealing. Good way to engage toddlers with colourful pictures and stories on Hindu gods in early years.

The perfect companion for the mythology-curious!
I enjoyed reading this one. The beautiful illustrations and the details made it all the more enjoyable. What I particularly like about this book is that the author has carefully structured it in a way that piques the curiosity of the reader, by peppering the story with hints of other adventures of Shiva. That's a great way to build curiosity in kids and leads to exploring even more stories and books.

Good book
It is a good book, I would have appreciated more if the book had a better story.

Good but could be better
The media could not be loaded. I have all the other books of this series. What I feel about this book is that they've tried to add many stories related to Shiva in this book but have not given any details about them, and the main story doesn't hold much significance in mythology. They could have explained just one story in detail which holds a a good mythological value.

Very disappointing, useless book
Very vague story. It mentions some stories of shiva but so briefly that it is very hard to understand for even me, let alone kids. I needed to research to find out the stories on each page. Depicts one of Shivas sons with a peacock feather which is misleading because it leads us to think it is Krishna (not Kartikeya). The last story is about a rabbit saved by Shiva which seems like a madeup story and not from Indian mythology. We were really impressed by the same authors Krishna book ( My 18 month old loved it) and therefore bought this item. But we are sorely disappointed by this book. Board books should be understandable for age group of 1 to 5 years but this book is useless for any kid. Sincerely hope that the authors can revise this book with a simpler and more accurate story. Want to return this and get refund but there seems to be no option on Amazon to do it.
