You wear it crossbody. It actually is more comfortable that way. The bag can either sit across your back or in front

Not sure what you mean by interchangeable. It is a fixed strap and can only be used as a sling.

No, the iPad is too big. I have a 9.7 and it doesn’t fit. But I do carry my switch in it but it takes up majority of the room
