The Book of Common Prayer: Gift Edition Leather Bound – September 1, 2022

This is the BCP we've all been waiting for! Finally the rubrics are printed in red as they should be! This book is very similar to the deluxe personal edition that is published directly by Church Publishing, except it is significantly larger and has the rubrics in red as previously mentioned. If we compare this one to the pew edition, it is nearly the same height and width but is still much slimmer. The print is moderately large and I find it easy to read. The content, of course, is the same as any other 1979 BCP. The gilded edges look very nice and it also has a built-in black ribbon bookmark. Overall I'm highly impressed with the quality of this BCP. I highly recommend it!

This is the 1979 edition of the BCP.I prefer this edition over the CHC edition. It’s larger and the rubrics are in red. I have no clue why the CHC has reduced the print size in most publications.But this copy, it won’t disappoint. The only thing is that in comes in shrink wrap and not boxed like the CHC edition is. This edition is far superior!

Very attractive edition. The pages are very thin, but also handsomely delicate.

Very nice copy. Leather bound. Gold edged pages. 1979 edition still most widely used. Very nice gift for someone who either doesn’t have their own copy or is getting baptized.

Bigger than a typical pew size but doesn’t have the hymnal in it. Great from traveling. The red rubrics are great too.

I was a bit worried when the book arrived as it was packaged in a way that is usually reserved for bibles of cheaper construction. Turns out though that my concerns were misplaced. This is a beautiful edition of the Book of Common Prayer. It is small, but hefty. And for its size, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the font was large and clear enough for ease of reading (very important to me as I am getting older). The leather cover and gold stamping are beautiful, and the binding is sturdy. It will make a great travel copy.

This edition of the BCP was larger than my older Oxford edition and smaller than the larger Chancel version. What I like most about it is how it is easier to hold and see with my aging eyes. I like the red rubrics and texture of the pages. The only thing I wish it had was more ribbons. But that was an easy fix with insertable ribbons.
