TTArtisan 25mm F2 Wide-Angle APS-C Large Aperture Camera Lens

Lets get this out of the way first- This isn't an optically perfect lens. Far from it. Wide open, this lens produces a somewhat soft and hazy picture that I'm sure some people will be put off from. If you want optical perfection, this isn't the lens for you. THAT BEING SAID- I love this lens. For one, it's the cheapest new lens (I think) that you can buy for the Fuji X mount. That alone gives it a lot of leeway to misbehave a bit, in my book. It's built of metal and feels good to use- the focus ring is well dampened and the clicked aperture is ideal for still photography. Not being a video shooter, I vastly prefer this over declicked apertures. The image quality, for all its flaws, provides what I find to be a pleasing character. It's not perfect for everything, but this is a lens that begs to be shot wide open at contrasty night scenes in the city. It's wide open characteristics are similar to using a slight diffusion filter. Considering that a good diffusion filter costs almost as much as this lens (Or more, if you splurge on the best filters you can buy), I treat this lens more as a special purpose tool than something to use for every occasion. That character disappears quickly when you stop down, becoming a very sharp lens very quickly. The diffuse look disappears almost completely after the first click down, so you don't need to use it all the time and still have a fast 2.8 aperture without the haze. It's also very small, and pairs well with my X-M1 as a setup that can get tossed in my shoulder bag without a second thought. It's a very fun lens, and if you aren't expecting the level of optical precision that Fuji lenses often strive for, this is a fantastic lens for the money.

This lens is amazing. It’s sharp, looks great on my Fujifilm camera, and doesn’t feel cheap at all! Build quality is excellent. The aperture ring clicks nicely, and the focus ring is smooth. The lens feels mostly metal and has a satisfying weight, though it’s still light and compact. It is worth mentioning that vignetting and color shading appear at f-stops higher than f/4, so if you were hoping to use wide apertures for a shallow depth of field or low light conditions, this lens has some imperfections and might not be the one for you. (Last image sample shows the vignetting) However, at f/4 and smaller, the image is sharp and there is hardly any vignetting. Great for street photography and bright/normal conditions. At wider apertures, the infinity focus may not be perfectly accurate, but it can be adjusted with a screwdriver. The lens cap screws on rather than clipping on, which I don’t mind because it adds a manual feel, but if you take it on and off frequently, you might want a separate 43mm lens cap. This was my first manual lens and I assure you it is really easy to use if you know the basics of photography. Very straight forward and functional lens. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. At this price point, I couldn’t ask for more (maybe slightly less vignetting). Highly recommended, great value for your money.

It seems while other people have had copy variance issues, my copy of this lens focuses correctly when set to infinity focus and is pretty damn sharp wide open considering what it is and it's price. There is a quite heavy vignette wide open at f/2 and the image can get pretty easily washed out from strong light sources in, or just outside of the frame (though this gets slightly better as you stop down). F/4 is a sweet spot in terms of sharpness and overall image for subject photography with some background separation. Unfortunately, it doesn't make for a very good landscape lens at all due to the corners of the image frame being blurry, even stopped down to f/8, and there is some somewhat noticable barrel distortion if you have straight lines in your frame. Fortunately, there isn't a strong color cast, though colors need a little bit of booting either in post or in camera. I find the build quality to be fine considering how small it is. It is true that the aperture ring is very thin and close to the focus ring, but I personally got used to it rather quickly. I initially accidentally ordered a Sony mount version of this lens, which had a feeling of grinding as I turned the focus ring, but the Fuji X version that I now have has no such issue and there is an adequate amount of resistance in the focus ring. Again, I suspect it to be a copy variance thing. Overall, an enjoyable and small little walk around lens if you aren't necessarily looking to do portfolio work or you're okay with stopping down quite a bit for optimal results, and even then stilly having blurry image corners. It makes my X-E1 like an interchangeable-lens X100. You need to remember that you're literally paying $64 for the lens so you should manage your expectations and keep them reasonable.

Just got this lens last night for my Fujifilm X-S20 and it's overall a great lens! I personally enjoy manual focusing and the focus ring on this lens is one of the best I've experienced in regards to third-party lenses. I was looking for a small/compact lens and this is perfect for my needs. The other great thing which may be why you're considering this lens is the price. There's so much value in getting this lens with the optics being good for the price + the wonderful metal build quality. The only thing is that when the lens is wide open at f2 there's quite a bit of vignette but improves quite well as you close it down more. I attached photos for reference and the order goes f/2, f/4, f8. Definitely recommend this lens to anyone

Honestly love this lens. For the price and the higher aperture, I totally think it’s worth the money. Just make sure “Shooting without Lens” is turned ON in your camera settings. Once that’s been updated you should have no problem.

Of course this is an inexpensive lens and I probably had too high expectations. The good, it’s very compact, well built and all metal. The not so good, focus ring dampening isn’t adequate, aperture ring is too thin and too close to the focus ring. If you focus wide open and try to stop the lens down it’s difficult to not knock focus. Also when focusing when you remove your fingers from the focusing ring it’s almost impossible to not knock the focus off. Definitely not dampened enough. I’m a retired master commercial photographer and worked 55 years. Im used to quality glass. I’m still trying to decide about image quality. I find it a bit hard to focus even with focus peaking but feel optical quality is a little lacking. Im not expecting Zeiss quality but don’t think this will deliver a reasonably sharp image for anything larger than an 8x10 print. I’ll give it more time but at this point I’d say it’s just OK as a snapshot lens.

I'm a huge fan of character in a lens and I own plenty of cheaper and vintage lenses. I absoluetly love the TArtisan 7.5mm F2.0 so thought I would give this lens I try as I was looking for a usable pancake lense. My initial experience after unboxing was very postive. The lens is compact, well made (even if the f-stops don't really click and is missing f/11) and looks great on my X-Pro2 & X-T1/X-T3. So it mounted it to my X-Pro2 and went out for a bike ride and began shooting and was impressed with the overall sharpness and contrast of the lens when shooting subjects that were in the shade. Things began to change however once the sun came anywhere near to the field of view of the lens as the lens flare started to exhibit itself. Don't get me wrong.. I am a huge fan of lens flare and I have some vintage glass that perfom magic when flaring.. I typically shoot wide open (why else have a wide apeture) but ifgured I would stop the lens down to see if that helped. As you can see from the sample image with sunstars, things didn't improve much in terms of flare or chromatic aberations. That being said.. I could live with this lens as it had so many other things going for it at the price (mainly size and focal length). I stopped in to the local watering hole to meet a friend and very much enjoyed shooting in the low light enviroment but ntoiced some weird color fringing and the bokeh is cetainly no weir close to being round even the I was shooting wide open at F/2. On teh way home I shot some night scenes.. and the flare I experienced uncontrable and real deal breaker for me as this type of shooting is pretty typical for me. This lens is a no brainer as long as you never point your camera towards a light direct light source... but otherwise I would stay clear. I ended up returning this lense and purchasing the Voigtlander 27mm F/2 FX mount. I've owned many Voigtlander's over the years and they are all still in my arsenal. While the Voigtlander is not cheap... it is smaller, better built, and image quality is about a million times better than this lens.. easily worth the 9X's price increase.

Great lens for its price, images are sharp, all metal body and hence feels a little heavy

Been using my X-T30II for about a year and I’ve decided to step up from my basic kit lens to a cheap prime and I chose this one mostly due to the dirt cheap price. It’s a fun little lens to shoot with and one thing I can say about it compared to my kit lens is that, it’s almost asking to go out and take photos with it. Manual focus is a challenge that in my experience makes photography much more immersive, and the focal length is perfect for, well, really anything. Street, everyday, landscapes, whatever. Plus it’s tiny. And did I mention the price? Build quality is excellent and easily beats my plastic kit lens but, one issue I’ve noticed is that my copy is slightly loose on the mount- it has some play back and forth when locked into the mount which is annoying but doesn’t affect the images or the usage of this lens in any way. Optical quality is definitely questionable… the 15-45 handily beats this little guy optically- at f2 there is major vignetting and the contrast is pretty bad- it definitely has some character, shooting at f2 gives an interesting retro film-like look for sure. This is lessened at f2.8 and easily correctable at f4 which is where I stick this lens all the time when shooting street. f5.6 and f8 are even better. But at all apertures the corners are noticeable blurry which annoyed me. If you’re looking for something razor-sharp and modern, with quality optics and clinical corner sharpness, skip this lens and go buy something 10x the price. But if you want a fun manual focus experience that makes you want to go out and shoot every day, I can’t recommend this lens enough. Give it a try!

I've been really enjoying this lens. I have plenty of expensive modern lenses that are super sharp, corrected for all aberrations, no flare, high contract, and vivid colours... but this is not one of them, in a good way. This one has just enough imperfections to not ruin the image but also give it character. Wide open there's lots of vignette, very soft in the corners, flares quite a bit, but the center sharpness is good, distortion is minimal, and well corrected for longitudinal chromatic aberation. Those who enjoy shooting on vintage lenses will likely enjoy this one as well, it's similar but has some nice modern improvements. The metal build feels nice works well. My one complaint is that the focus ring is right at the front of the lens and somewhat thin, but otherwise easy to manage.
