On the non standard roll then the inside roll can be larger, the snapping motion should still help this to work. I have gone and tested rolls we have here and they are working correctly **Q: What is the bottom made of? Is there a plastic or rubber bottom? –Wonder what would happen if water got trapped underneath.** A: The bottom is a pad made of something like rubber foam. It feels kind of like craft foam kids would cut shapes out of but sturdier. If it gets wet, it dries quickly - this happens to me often as my faucet is high, so water splashes out of the sink. It has never been an issue, and I'm quite OCD about the kitchen. If it got wet, you could just dry it off with a paper towel or towel.
