the power source is a transformer... which obviously only works when it is plugged in. There is no battery in this unit. This is an elegant unit that works really well and is unobtrusive in almost any room decor. The ability to select color balance is pleasant to have.

Q: This a lamp with remote control? Or just the remote? Because where it list what's in the box, it just says remote control...

Yes it is a working remote control. All the functions you can do on the lamp post can also be done with the remote control.

Q: Would it work for voltage in Hong Kong, namely 220-240 V?

It might. The power converter says 100 to 240 V and it’s a standard US plug so at the very least you might need an adapter. In the worst case you would need a power converter to convert to the correct voltage.
