McAfee 2018 AntiVirus Plus - 10 Devices [Old Version]

Used this product during the prior Anti-virus season of 2018. Switched to Norton in 2019. I will be switching back to McAfee in 2020.

Wouldn't get rid or catch malware. Can't even use my computer.

I bought this product because it was on sale and was HEAVILY DISCOUNTED. Well, I guess the good ole ' saying .... "You get what you pay for" certainly applies to this purchase. It must have been way too good to be true. My husband had SO SO MANY PROBLEMS trying to install the cd/software, and the 2+ hours on the phone with tech support still did not help to resolve the problem and issues. My husband decided that it was time (last Saturday) to cut our losses and simply go to Best Buy and purchase another well-known Computer virus protection software.I would hate to say NOT to buy this product, however if your future experience turns out to be ANYTHING like what we experienced with all of the trouble, and time wasted trying to install this product, I can't help but to deter you from buying it. Good luck. Maybe your experience will be better than ours. :(

I am looking for a new product. McAfee AntivirusPlus does so much checking that I get little time to use it for my own needs. It checks when I run a program on my computer, it runs when I am doing anything. When it wants to update, it locks me out for hours at a time. I had to shut off the routine that checks every program when I run it because it took a long time to complete the check. I want to use this computer for something other than checking.

I wanted to give this no stars but it won’t let me!! This was a scam! The product key does not work and when you try to install it it gives you a phone number to call. It’s in another country and they tell you that your computer and your network are all infected and they try to get you to buy a program to get rid of all the malware. We told them no thank you and we don’t want the program and they were very pushy and aggressive and kept calling us back. I am very disappointed that my purchase was such a waste of money and made me go through this horrible ordeal. This is not McAfee that made this program. It’s another company that is making people call with installation issues to try to make them buy an expensive malware removal program.

i received a box with a code card a few days after purchased. worked great, easiest set up for Mcafee ever.

Effective Anti-Virus program with good featuresI've been testing the latest version of McAfee's Anti-Virus Plus for about a month now and have found it to be a really effective tool for keeping our devices safer. Prior to this, we'd been using Vipre which is good but not as effective as McAfee in finding potential problems, it wasn't usable on multiple devices, and it didn't clean up anything on our devices like cookies - which again, the McAfee Anti-Virus Plus is really good at doing.The user interface is clean, free of anything unnecessary, and really easy to use. The user menu has the following headings: Home, PC Security, Identity, Privacy, and Account. There's also a password manager but I haven't really explored that because I already use another password program. There's an antispam filter under the Identity menu, as well as parental controls - which we don't use because our kids are older but I did look at them and they seem easy to use. Parental controls are under Privacy.The best thing about this software is that you can use it on up to 10 devices and that applies to Windows, IOS, and Android. The reason I downgraded this to three stars is because it was difficult to remove from my phone. I know McAfee has a great reputation as a solid anti virus program but it shouldn't be that difficult to remove from any device. It kept closing my settings when I'd try to remove it as a device administrator. Not okay.I have read of some people having problems trying to get it to work on an Apple device. I haven't tried that so I can't comment but it's something McAfee should be made aware of ... so I do hope they read reviews. When you order online, you'll get a box with a card inside that has the product key. All you have to do is go to www dot mcafee dot com/activate - easy peasy. I like the spam filter because I get So much spam but that's something I'll really have to evaluate over time.All in all, this is a good anti-virus program. Just be aware it might be a bit difficult to remove from an Android device. Recommended, esp for those with multiple devices.

I'm actually shocked that Amazon continues to sell this product. I installed it and all I got was McAffee site advisor that succeeded in locking up Google Chrome every chance it got. When I finally gave up trying to get AntiVirus to work, it took me a couple of hours to figure out how to extricate this software from my PC. It acted like a virus itself. Terrible experience. I'll never use McAfee for anything ever again. Microsoft Security Essentials is free, installs easily.
