Arrived fast. Appreciated that since my old perc died after 15 yrs.First day, took less than 4 minutes to brew an excellent pot of HOT coffee. Easy to use and I like the auto time off feature. Also nice that the heat perch is detachable. Very easy to clean, compact unit on my limited counter space.As a former batista, brewing great coffee requires high pressurized heat and precise h2o movement...which is why drip coffee pots are inferior to me. Those single cup makers are useless to me (I typically have 5 cups every morning) and are extremely wasteful and costly.This perc will also be great for tea, Chai and water for those addicted to Ramen noodles...but not so good for true hot chocolate (heats too high and fast, scalding your milk).Really great purchase and price. Hope it lasts as long as my old perc did.

After buying three or four drip coffee makers, including some up-market brands, I got tired of the burnt plastic or chemical taste. I got this perculator because I remembered some 50 years ago, my mother and father had a perculator made of stainless steel, so I got this, and the coffee tastes like coffee, not like the plastic parts of the machine. I would recommend this pot for anyone who just wants a cup of good coffee. Easy to clean, easy to use, keeps coffee hot, its great!

Nothing compares to the Elite Gourmet EC812 Electric 12-Cup Coffee Percolator.First of all, the coffee this percolator makes is simply outstanding. It's smooth, rich, and has the perfect temperature to enjoy a leisurely cup at the table.I can't understand why some people complain about the temperature. The coffee is just right for me, and I prefer not to scald my taste buds with piping hot coffee. As for the noise, well, it's just the classic percolator sound that I remember from my childhood. It's nostalgic and adds to the charm of using this coffee maker.Of course, the taste of the coffee will depend on the amount of coffee you use and the roasted strength. It's important to find the right balance for your personal preference. I recommend experimenting with the measurements and using a bold brew for a fuller flavor. Additionally, using filters can help eliminate any residual taste or harshness.Now, let's talk about some recommendations. Don't rely on their "number of cups" measurement. I found that 6 only fills about 2 cups of my favorite mug. I suggest using your own mug, filling it as many times as you plan to drink, and then use the marked measurements accordingly. Also, investing in filters is a wise choice to enhance the taste of your coffee. They are affordable and last for a long time.In conclusion, I wish I had discovered the Elite Gourmet EC812 Electric 12-Cup Coffee Percolator a long time ago, or simply listened to my parents' advice. It would have saved me a lot of time, effort, and money wasted on other coffee makers. Not all percolators are made the same, and this one stands out as the best. I even added an Alexa plug to it, which allows me to use the timer and ensure it's ready for me in the morning. If you don't have a connected house, a simple plug-in timer will do the trick. So, stop complaining about things that won't get fixed and give this percolator a try. You won't regret it!

What's not to like about this percolator? The coffee is soooo good! It makes even great value brand taste good but it makes Community Coffee taste like the coffee from the finest restaurants in America. We are happy with the size, love the auto shut off, heat of coffee is perfect for making the best cup ... everything but those 3 little holes in the lid. Oh well, it hasn't affected the coffee taste. Note: I have not used or had home percolator coffee since 1970 when I started drinking coffee with mom and dad. I was 10. Two years ago I got the Cuisinart which made a fab cup and I had a few complaints - it had no auto shut off and we often forgot to unplug it and as a result, the heating element was going out so I ordered the Elite Gormet. With the Cuisinart, if you didn't get the coffee consumed in 30 minutes you got lukewarm coffee. And the lid never synced well and grounds, even coarse came out the gap in the lid. NOT SO WITH THIS ELITE GOURMET!!!! As I said we LOVE it. Only reason no 5 star is the three holes in the lid and no instruction for what they mean or how to use them on lid alignment. PS let me know where you get coarse ground coffee and what brand you like. Thanks.
