Industrial strength!
Can't imagine the average person using this for a collection at home.I couldn't even open the prongs! It's huge. Takes up tremendous amount of shelf space. Maybe for a business whose by-laws and protocols have to be on hand to satisfy some regulation?I took to the thrift shop.

AbLarge but Exceptional Binder
I needed a very large binder to hold a specialized collection of topical stamps, 3-inches being too small, and when I spotted this huge 5-inch version, I ordered one to see if it might work. . It proved to be simply great and I soon came back to purchase yet a second one. To be sure, any binder this large when filled with hundreds of pages seems to weigh a literal ton, but it is sturdy and people-friendly. It is not the kind of binder one ought to purchase with the intention of casually carrying it around the house or office, but its price is, for a binder this large, well worth the cost and I am very pleased. Others, I think, who have need for something as big will be as well.

Great binder, not impressed with the packaging
I liked the binder, wasn't happy with how in was packaged. Was packed with a huge box of cat food and the binder was all bent up when it arrived. would have gave it five stars but was bent up from how it was packed

D-Ring Snap Notebooks hold more with less page loss.
I’ve bought hundreds of notebooks over the years so I’m very familiar with brand names, materials, static material strengths and their limitations. The functional metal spine and rings are superior and will last through many thousands of snaps open and closed when full without significant distortion. The ‘D’ shape means about 1/3rd more pages in than the same size round rings and the pages on either end tend to not tear out and get lost as often as with round ring binders. The vinyl skin over cardboard is the obvious week spot. If you don’t use these daily they will last until the card stock warps and the vinyl skin stretches and becomes brittle, cracking and losing entire outer panels. This takes years..unless you’re a heavy daily user then about 2-3 years max.I buy these for the inner spines. I drill out the rivets and mount the quality spine on a 3/16” hardwood back and 9mm whole grain leather side panels which I sew into a distressed oil tanned soft 6mm whole grain leather cover inside and out. I had over 20 of these completed for very heavy loaded page photo organizational books in my library before the home burned down..bummer.. but I was so satisfied with the years of performance that I bought more and am starting all over again. Custom covers that weigh about 5 lbs and can bear 15lbs of heavy photo filled pages for my cataloging of many thousands of photo original copies and film negative pockets.I hear the question..”Why not just buy the spines?” The simple short answer..They cost three times more to buy separately than to buy the very same spine riveted into a vinyl cover! (Go figure!).Well, 8 down, only 232 more to go to replace the ones that I lost! About 4000 square feet of leather total both structural and outer smooth soft heavy garment leather, a few miles of stitches and 700 odd brass rivets to remount them on 240 thin maple spine boards...sounds like fun! Next week I order eight more!

A little bent
It was a little bent when I received it but I can still use it. The rings are pretty hard to open but can be done. I prefer the ones from office depot but I will use this.
