A good resource
I'm a beginner at working on clocks. I've had to reference the books on occasion. A great reference

Doesn't give any technical info on clock repair
Not what I expected. This book is mostly stories by the author about how he repaired some old clocks, without any specifics on how to. Theres nothing to learn from this book. I thumbed thru it and put it next to the fireplace to use as tinder this winter.

Another great repair book by Steven G. Conover
This repair book is very focused and full of great repair insight for the more common types of American clocks. Great descriptions with supporting pictures/drawings provides excellent instruction. This is my fourth book by Steve, I refer to them all often.

This is good but came up a little short
I thought this would help me with clock repair but I found even more information on the internet for free

Good reference
Not a book to just read through but useful in understanding and diagnosing a range of American clocks

More content on each clock would be great!
This book starts off great in each chapter, however, when the reader is expecting a very detailed article on each clock, or maker, the chapter is cut short far too soon and a new clock writing is started. I find Mr. Conover to be a very knowledgeable writer and a much needed contributor to the Horology field.
