Works good

I used this dewalt adapter for V8 animal vaccum that we bought 4~5 years ago. The original battery was dying so we bought a third party replacement battery. Soon we found the replacement battery performed anything but satisfactory. So I decided to give this Dewalt adaptor a try since I have 4 different 20V max dewalt batteries. It works as a charm with any of those 4 batteries: the vaccum is full of power and it can run on Maximum power continuously without any problem. I feel it is even better than the original one. The vaccum now really sucks everything on the floor. Also, I use my garage hook to hang the vaccum instead of the original Dyson wall charger, and it is more space-efficient for me. Update at Apr 2024: after a year’s extensive use, the adaptor holds as strong as beginning. Maybe exaggerating, but I feel there is even more power with the Dewalt battery than the original Dyson one. The third party battery that we tried is not comparable at all. Update in July 2025: still holds strong and performance is the same as before with the same dewalt batteries Will update more if anything happens!

Bought this on prime day and put it on right off the porch and it works! May never have to buy it again but if i do i will.

Bought this because I have many dewalt batteries and the original Dyson one lasted about 30 seconds. This attachment worked great for a couple uses but then the vacuum started cycling power on and off every second when trying to use it. Ended up being a waste of money.

Long power life. I can vacuum my entire house.

Works great. I’m able to use my DeWalt batteries that I already have, plus it lasts longer than the standard battery it comes with. When the battery goes, I just switch to another one. Makes cleaning a cinch.

The product fits and works. The screws that come with it are slightly smaller than the original ones so I keep the originals in place with the adapter. Pretty sure the smaller screws would work, but the handle felt a tad loose. Now a side note on battery life… DeWalt 20V 10ah Compared to six minutes with the OEM Dyson 8 battery, I got about 30 minutes on high/max (with intermittent use over 45 minutes). The handle/adapter gave a red light at 26 minutes. Green light came back on the handle for a minute before returning to red after that. Still had vacuuming power and did not automatically shut off as the OEM did, but I didn't want to burn out the D8V motor or over-discharge the battery which was at one bar. So I put the battery back on the charger and I am totally satisfied. Question for others... did the Dyson shut off when the battery was at one bar or depleted for the task? Should I have kept vacuuming?

If you have a Dyson vacuum. Buy this. It has made it so much easier to use the sweeper since I can use theDewalt batteries I already have. The original Dyson battery just doesn’t last long enough.

Purchased the Dyson v8 in October of 2023 thinking we were getting one of the best vacuums on the market and in the first few months we were very pleased with the max suction switch and having a cat, the vacuum would pick up all the dust, crumbs and cat hair that you can not even see is there. That being said, it only lasted a few months before the battery slowly started giving out sooner and sooner after a full charge, where it came to a point it would die with only 5 minutes of use. Super frustrated with it since it was such an expensive purchase, I contacted Dyson thinking I would just get a battery replaced with my warranty since it has only been 4 months that I had the vacuum. That wasn't the case, after numerous back and forth emails, customer service repeatedly just gave me a link to buy a new over priced battery that just croaked on me after 4 months of use even though their warranty states that it they would gladly replace the battery. Thats how I ended up here and having all of my power tools being Dewalt I read a couple reviews and bought this attachment. At first I thought I bought a piece of garbage because the vacuum wouldn't even turn on, on max mode. I read into it a bit and all you have to do is use a stronger battery. I had a 2AH battery, then I went to the truck and grabbed one of my 5AH batteries and WOW! Dyson and Dewalt should do a collab because with the 5AH Dewalt battery, the strength and suction of the vacuum was better than the first day of using it. It's so much stronger and lasts forever seems like. I am very very happy with it. PROS - Suction is amazing, better then when the vacuum was brand new with the strenth of the DeWalt battery - Battery lasts longer then I could ever use it, also better then the brand new Dyson battery - You can swap out a battery in a second if you need to and will never have to stop vacuuming to wait for the battery to charge again CONS -Have to purchase a bigger Dewalt battery if you want to run the max setting - Only other con I could really think of which could be a major one for other people but for me it wasn't, is that the vacuum wont fit on the wall anymore. Just going to switch it to a closet and make my own vacuum wall attachment. Won't be as pretty but to me it outweighs the negatives of using a Dyson battery

Got tired of having to wait for my stock Dyson battery to charge midway through my vacuuming session (battery not removable). Thanks to this amazing add-on, I can get my DeWalt 5 amps batteries on and replace with a fully charged one while the other is charging. It made cleaning the house less frustrating !!

This was easy to install, and my deWalt battery fits right on it. The vacuum runs, as it should, using this method. I wish, though, that this adapter was the same thickness as the original Dyson battery because it doesn't fit in the wall bracket anymore. If you decide this solution is for you, be sure to get the right battery. That said, my thinner battery seemed to function too, but I didn't test it for running length.

This attachment allowed me to use my Dyson vacuum again and for much longer at “max” power than the original battery that came with it. Definitely saved me from buying a new vacuum or battery from Dyson.

Got this for when my Dyson V8 battery wore out which happened much earlier than anticipated (60 days) so I got a chance to try this with my new Dewalt drill batteries. It did not work properly. 2 of the batteries created a pulsing action and the larger Dewalt battery didn't even get that, just a red indicator. No return for me either as it is beyond the 30 day return window. Maybe the seller can refund me if they read this?
