{Edited} If it ain't perfect, it's goin' back. . .I'm keeping it. . .
But I'm saving the return box, just in case I need it! It arrived the night before I am writing this. It is NOT perfect. However, it is as close to perfect as I can reasonably expect for this type of product. My logic for the title statement, was based on the fact that this has been the single most expensive piece of audio equipment I have ever bought. So, for me I have to be VERY happy with this product, or it simply isn't worth having.(EDIT: The day before I typed this edit, the device locked up on me after 4 months of service and had to be returned to Como for repair. I think my review still stands as is, and I'm not docking it any stars, it is still the best personal audio device I've ever encountered.EDIT AFTER RETURN - It came back about two and a half weeks after I sent it off. I missed that thing! They sent me an email saying they could not get my machine to respond to any commands and they sent me a new Como Música. PLUS, they returned the CD stuck in the device! (Soundtrack to "The Commitments" Simply the best Rock & Roll movie ever) I'm still uncomfortable with their requirement that I pay return shipping fees, especially after a failure at 4 months. But I simply can't complain about the service. And the sound quality is still first rate. Also note the phot I included with this edit. END EDIT)Why I bought it:* 2nd Stimulus check arrived, thanks Xi Jinping!* It's a small shelf-top system, which isn't ugly. And fits in our living room.* It promised VERY GOOD Sound* It had a CD Player.* It's not a Bose Wave, which certain family members have, and I've not been impressed (With Bose Wave, not the family members. Well, mostly)* I contacted their website with a question, and they replied almost immediately, even though it was close to quitting time on the East Coast of the USA. That impressed the heck out of me.SETUP - It's not particularly difficult, but the instructions are vague enough, that I had to do a factory reset in order to do it a 2nd time. That is not particularly difficult, but while the instructions tell you do a factory reset, they don't tell you HOW. (It's buried in the onscreen menu, the "reset button" on the back is more of reboot button.) I'm still having trouble setting up Spotify and Amazon, so I will review the Como videos on YouTube. Now that I've done it, I don't think I'll have any trouble adjusting the set up if my needs change.OPERATION - Fairly straight forward through the onscreen menuing system. I would have liked to have seen a bigger screen. I have to be pretty close to see it. The irony is people who can afford something like this are going to be people who are less likely to be able to see the screen! The telescoping antenna seems adequate the task in my semi-rural mid-western USA environment. You can tell the FM tuner to ignore weak stations if you want. And the fact that I can use the Musica to play just about any source of audio there is, is a real plus. There is even input for a turntable or some other device.Menu System: The graphics menu function of the screen is a little awkward. You can't scroll down to the function Icon you want, instead, you have to step through the entire collection of icons until you land on the icon you are looking for.Remote - Control: Seems like a good RF remote designed specifically for the Musica. You can pretty much do anything with the remote that you can to with the control panel, but if you are old-ish and need to be close to the on-board screen anyway, the remote loses some of its usefulness. There was no documentation at all regarding the remote. Not even instructions to say the battery is installed already, and you need to pull the little plastic tab out of the battery compartment.SOUND - THIS is why I'm keeping it! The treble and mid tones are crisp and clear. I hear things in playing CDs that I've not heard before, and the radio and streaming functions are almost as good. Now, a cabinet this size is not going to produce window rattling bass! But even so, the bass tones in the music, while not as deep and rumbly as my Cerwin-Vega speakers downstairs, are good enough. As with the mid-tones and treble, the bass sound is crisp and clear, and stays that way even at moderately loud volume settings.Overall, I like this device very much. The sound is close to perfect for casual listening in a small intimate environment. It's well built, and the Piano Black finish is absolutely beautiful, it is what you would find on a Grand PianoThe Musica's biggest problem is the documentation. What documentation there is, is well written, but it is not adequate to the task. There is a printed user's manual, but it is too sparse to be all that useful. I can't help but wonder if better documentation would reduce the number of returns from people who are easily intimidated by this sort of thing. Even so, I think it is WORTH THE MONEY!

A sonically great sounding unit with modern technology features all in one
A sonically great sounding unit with modern technology features all in one!!!Background: I originally bought the Bose Wave Soundtouch unit (unaware of Como at the time) and was not at all happy with the sound. It was muffled (without clear high end) and just didn't sound good to my trained ear at all. Returned it and came across Como after some digging and researching, and decided to give the Musica unit a try as it was the same price range.Pros: Seems very well made, real wood cabinet, looks great, nice layout, cool analog clock, alarm, easy set up and connection to wifi (haven't tried bluetooth yet), built in spotify, local and worldwide internet radio (girlfriend loves the Italian stations), cd slot, useful remote, all cool stuff but how about the most important thing to me...the sound?Well with a few simple tweaks on the bass and treble adjustments (thank you COMO for including those) the Musica sounds fantastic!! I dig the loudness feature for low volume listening as well.Cons: NONE...more like suggestions I'd say. Would be kool to have a small subwoofer (accessory to buy?) to connect to Musica as the deep lows (say sub 70htz sounds like) are not really bumping (but not bad for the units built in speaker sizes), doesn't yet get Amazon Music (prime member) as advertised, and would be nice to be able to have analog clock on while music is playing adjustment.Must also mention I got an email from the company inquiring about my purchase and to contact if any issues, and thought that was a nice touch. All in all the Como Musica is a great unit and I am quite happy with my purchase.

Overall, an excellent product with one exception
Generally I would rate this system to be an excellent product with outstanding sound quality. The one issue I have with it is that I think the FM tuner could be better. Even with an amplified antenna, there is a lot of background noise that degrades sound quality when listening to that source. While I don't live in a metropolitan area, I am in an area where the stations I want to receive are not too far away (<50 miles) and some don't have an internet equivalent. This reservation completely disappears when using other sources (such as CD or internet radio). Given the small size of the system and using the latter sources, the sound is clear with good highs and reasonable bass performance. I do like the fact that this particular system offers a CD player in addition to internet as I have a large collection of CDs. I had no trouble getting the system set up, including access to Amazon Prime Music. It just took a little bit of time and paying attention to the instructions. If FM performance is not critical, I would highly recommend this product.
