Harder to order and program, than it sounds
I am going to return and re-order. I think I need the one with the receiver.

Perfect replacement
Worked right out of the package. You can reset the switches to match your fan frequency if you need to. Theres a series of switch on offs to reset, google it, I had to do it once and it was easy.

Very happy with product
Remote works great. We didn’t realize we had to hold the light and the fan buttons at the same time to setup, but once we figured it out, it worked great

These remotes solved my problems
I installed two harbor Breeze fans about 2008. From day one, the remotes would drain the batteries in 24 hours. There was no way to control them without the remote, since they had no pull switches. I just removed the batteries and put them in for a second when I wanted to use the fans. Finally this got old and I lost the battery covers. I was planning on removing the fans and replacing them with new ones, but since they are in guest rooms, and rarely used, I figured the easiest thing to do was just replace the remotes. Went to Lowes and the replacements they had were about 40 bucks each. I wasn't too sure they wouldn't have the same issue as the originals. I looked on Amazon and matched up my remote control number inside the remote and it took me to these. For $14.99 for 2 seemed like a pretty good deal. If they didn't work, I was only out a few bucks. When they came, I set the dip switches, put in new duracell batteries, and they worked like a champ. It's been over a month and they are still working the fans, and I might add, I don't have to remove the battery to keep it from being drained. Wish I'd found the years ago.

For fans that use dip switches - check your old remote if you still have it!
As far as I know, it works for some fans. I ordered this because it looked just like my old one, but realize now that I should have been more careful. This thing has dip switches inside, and my old remote did not. With the old remote, I could turn off power to the fan/light and turn it back on. Pressing "learn" on the old remote within 30 seconds of restoring power with the fan/light would cause the remote to sync up with the fan/light. That is not how this remote works. (It has a learn button, and I tried using it, but no sync.) So, while it looks just like my old one, it's not the same, and I now have a remote I can't use (or return, as I threw all the packaging away upon receipt). The battery cover from this remote does fit my old remote, though, so at least I can use that piece of it. I had lost the old battery cover, and I was able to re-sync the old remote after installing a new battery in it, so it's working again...

Needs Batteries and Setup
So this IS exactly the remote I needed, but it requires a specific, uncommon battery to work, and it needs to be paired to your current setup to work properly.

Worked as needed
This worked very well for our outdoor fan. Fit the previous remote holder mounted on the post and everything. One “warning” though — I can turn on both inside and outside fans at the same time with one click!
