Made of stiff metal wire, not silver colored string.
These keep my keys ringed. smaller than what I typically see on key chains, but they are as advertised, so that's a me problem and not a these problem.

Smaller circumference does not mean that the metal has to be thin
I bought these wanting something smaller in circumference than the one one-in hers that I have and I expected the same thickness of the metal and I am a little disappointed with these – they are quite thin so get ready for that in case that is going to disappoint you.

No complaints but also I have a niche use case
For whatever reason, my dog is constantly getting his tags caught on things. This isn't a huge deal normally but every so often he ends up yanking too hard and the metal ring holding his tags to his caller gets bent out of shape. It is super helpful to have a collection of replacements ready to go whenever he needs a new one.
