You get a nice solid PCB with an HDMI plug and two strips of terminal blocks that you can use with stranded or solid core wire to quickly assemble your own wiring jigs. So, we recommend this adapter when you have some unusual setup or wiring needs like splicing off the I2C or power pins. Comes with one fully assembled breakout and a clip-on housing Review: Patience, but works flawlessly. - This item worked perfectly for us, but a word of caution, wiring it up could be difficult for some not electronically inclined. For our purposes, we used this because we had to run an hdmi cable thru a wall and corrugated tubing that was too small for the HDMI head on the cable to fit through. So we had to cut one of the HDMI cable ends off so the cable would go thru the tubing. We used this new HDMI Connector to replace the severed head or cable end we had cut off previously. The hard part is knowing where to place each wire into the connector.(there may be up to 21 wires in your hdmi cable). What we did was use a Female to Female HDMI coupler to figure out exactly where to place the wires. Here's how to do it: Strip the wires on the severed hdmi head (connector) and plug that end into the Female to Female coupler. Next connect the coupler into this New HDMI plug. Using a multimeter, set your meter to OHMS. Now take one of the test leads from your meter and touch any wire on the severed connector, then while you are holding that lead to the wire on the severed connector, touch the other test lead to the terminal block pins until you find continuty. Voila, you have found where that wire should go so place that same color wire from the HDMI cable you are repairing into that spot. Repeat this process until All wires are connected into the block. test to make sure it works and you are done Review: Made it into a wifi enabled cec - Works great.
