I bought this for a trip abroad, but I have wanted to have a backpack purse for awhile. I bought and returned 3-4 and looked at dozens of others both in stores and at Amazon. I have continued to use it since I have returned home. It fits the smallest "personal. item" size I've seen anywhere (KLM/ Delta is what we were flying this time, but I know some of the budget airlines are pickier.Inside the tablet pouch holds my planner, iPad 9 and a steno notebook. I got the smallest size available at Walmart for maybe $2 for a two pack. No need to buy a more expensive bag to get the locks.I juggle multiple sets of keys and they clip easily onto the straps with carabiners. My iPhone SE and sunglasses fit in the top front pocket, a package of travel wipes, nasal spray, etc in the lower front pocket and bandaids and a tiny sewing kit in the smallest front pocket.The side water bottle pocket holds two foldable shopping bags on one side and a 20ish ounce water bottle on the other. I took an older rubbermaid "chug" bottle for ease of adding electrolyte powder while traveling, but most single-serve water bottles will work fine. It won't work for the big Nalgene. That goes in my briefcase bag for all day at work, but fits inside if I put my full-sized wallet on its side.The outside back pocket doesn't have a way to lock the zipper, but I was comfortable putting our passports in there since it was always up next to my body.I am using this bag to replace a Baggelli. It had served me well, but I really needed to go hands free. Everything they offer currently was more complicated than necessary and no longer had the chapstick holders which was weirdly important to me if I was going to spend that much money.I was afraid this would look cheap, but it really isn't bad in real life. It's probably not for the designer handbag crowd, but it's great for a lightweight, no hassle day pack/ purse.

I ordered this backpack because I needed a small but spacious bag to use as my personal item on a bus and Amtrak train during an upcoming trip. In addition, I wanted it to double as my day bag to haul notebooks and supplies around a college campus for a writing conference. This will be perfect!I like the plan black color (with Grey zipper pulls and a Patterned Grey and white interior), and the material is nicely water-resistant and slippery. The straps are padded and adjustable, and there are a great variety and number of pockets (most od them zippered shut for added organization and security). Size-wise, this holds so much more than I was expecting, while still solidly meeting personal item size requirements. A college size notebook fits upright, as well as snacks, pencils, my phone and charger, earbuds, a water bottle, and more.If I have any complaint, it's that the material doesn't feel super durable. I haven't had any issues with it yet, but you can just tell by feeling it that it's not extremely high quality. And yet, for the price, I didn't expect it to be. I'm hoping it not only lasts me through this trip, but future ones too, but if it just lasts this one, I'm not out much money. Very happy with this purchase.

Great backpack.

The only reason I gave four stars is because I thought it was going to be bigger than it is. I did read the measurements and according to them it should have fit. I barely got it in the backpack. Even though I'm disappointed the bag was made well and very cute. I also liked the fabric.

I purchased this 2 years ago and have used it as my "personal item" on several international trips. The zippers are amazingly sturdy as I stuff this bag with everything I need for a long flight. Exterior, zippered pockets hold travel essentials for easy access: phone, passport, small wallet. My my only complaint is that the trolly sleeve does not expand and therefore is difficult to slide over my luggage handle when full.

The size works for me. There are two places for water bottles but they are not very wide. However, my bottle fits inside the bag.

This is the third one of these backpack purses that I have purchased. It is perfect for travel when you need both hands to manage luggage. Wish that they still had different colors available.

The material feels like plastic, the zipper seems to be pretty rough, It cuts easily and it was much smaller than I expected. But it works.
