I think this would work well on slick surfaces though. On that matte surface I was able to pop it off repeatedly with just my fingers. With the combo kingston lock sticking out acting as a lever it just didn't do anything. ^^;; I'm not sure that this can, by it's nature, truly secure something to be honest.. it is just a sticker. Still, I think the plate needs to be larger if you plan to only use adhesive to secure somethingFor our needs it needed to be very very secure as it was to secure a very expensive wireless router in a very public area. I ended up just sticking it to the router, taking the router apart, then drilling holes into the case and bracket. If I had to do this again I would had drilled holes into the bracket and then tapped the bracket. Then I would had put the machine screws in from the other side of the case with some lock tight.
