My Favourite Facewash
I've used this for years, and it's outstanding. Use 1-2 pumps on dry skin, massage well and then rinse with water. It manages to get rid of the most stubborn makeup (MAC Studio Fix + Kat Von D Tatto Liner are no match!!), and is extremely gentle to the skin (I have eczema and dermatitis, and this is gentle enough for my skin), leaves it soft. I don't think I can ever change my face cleanser again, it's really sublime.

Feels lovely to use
My skin: I have very annoying skin. Having sailed through teenage-hood spot free, the universe has reaped its revenge in my twenties by giving me deep, painful chin spots (probably hormonal), and also spots on my cheeks that lurk beneath the surface, never quite reaching a whitehead but also never quite going away. My skin isn't particularly dry or particularly oily, although I do have big pores and blackheads on my nose. Also, I'm very pale, so blemishes really show up. My gosh, reading this, I don't know how I even leave the house. This product: I bought this on the strength of the reviews. Firstly, it's very lovely to use. I use it on my face (not eyes), and gently massage it in. It really feels soft and nice, and it a relaxing thing to do before going to bed. It washes off with water as a nice milky liquid. Afterwards, my face feels very clean, without that awful drying feeling some face washes give you. I do however use another facewash straight afterwards, as I think the instructions (and some other reviewers) recommend. I'm pretty convinced that this is working well, as my skin has been nice for the two weeks I've been using it. It hasn't gotten rid of the blackheads, but they do seem reduced, and I've not had any breakouts (which often happens to me with oily products). Also, the bottle is very big and you don't need more than one pump per use, so it seems well worth the price. My skin feels nice - not dry, not oily. I like it a lot and think I'll keep using it.

also visited by the DHC sample fairy
I'm getting a big laugh out of how many reviewers bought this after discovering a sample in the back of their cupboard that had probably been there for years -- me too! I had been trying a number of oil and melting balm type cleansers for makeup removal because, while I do like micellar water (I use Bioderma Sensibio) I don't like the waste generated by the cotton pads, and it does take a lot of grunt work to remove waterproof makeup with it. This product beats everything else out of the park. Not only is it better at removing waterproof makeup than any other product I've tried, it has no fragrance and washes away completely clean while still feeling like it isn't stripping my skin. I was shocked -- a one-step oil cleanser!? I'd always been forced to dual cleanse by any makeup removing product that wasn't a micellar water. I also have normal to oily skin with acne that wasn't under control when I first tested this product, and it did not cause me to break out like the majority of cleansers did. It doesn't even bother my eyes, which every other oil/balm type cleanser has been a real nuisance about when removing mascara and eyeliner. And because products without water have no pH, you don't have to worry about the skin-stripping effects of a high pH cleanser. As a product, it's basically as perfect as perfect could be -- I cannot even conceive of a way a cleanser could better suit my needs. My only complaint is the price. The ingredients are cheap as chips, so it feels like there's some unwarranted markup. But it IS cheaper than many of the alternatives (looking at you shu uemura), and you can buy small sample-sized bottles first, which I so appreciate. So why not give it a try? Or, just look in the back of your cupboard -- you probably have a sample there too hahaha. Products I tried that didn't live up to this one include all of shu uemura's various cleansing oils from one of their sample sets (none of them washed away very cleanly and felt greasy, very minor brekaouts), NIOD's low viscosity cleansing ester (works okay, although not fragranced has an odd odour and doesn't rinse off even a little bit, forcing you to use another face wash to remove it, does leave skin moisturized because you really can't seem to wash it all off, caused breakouts) botanic farms grain ferment cleansing sherbert (works well and washes cleanly but heavily fragranced and hard to purchase from the UK, did not cause breakouts). I also tried Clinique's take the day off makeup remover, which was good at removing waterproof makeup but I really hated using because of the greasy silicone film it leaves behind (used only on eye area so breakout effect unknown).

Best pore cleanser
The best face cleaner I ever had. Doesn’t dry out the skin and cleanses pores like nothing else!!!! However, please DO NOT use it to wash your eye make up. I did, and so regret it so much as I had an allergic reaction. My eyes were so swollen and painful. Be careful!!!! I have seen that people wrote online that you can do that, I beg you not to. Other than that, it’s incredible for your skin.

Fantastic
This oil is absolutely the best product I have used to clean my skin. It takes off all makeup and cleans your eye make up off with absolute ease and none of the sting, blurriness or anything uncomfortable you get with other products. The oil is light and massages into your face very well, it then rinses off with water by emulsifying. It turns white and washes clean away. The oil doesn't smell bad at all, no oily smell. I have always has problem skin, blackheads, dry patches, hormonal breakouts but since using this my skin has improved. Dry patches have gone and hormonal breakouts are more controllable. Also, it seems to stop breakouts from happening. I absolutely love this product and will buy it from now on, well worth the price.m

Holy grail
Love this for removing multiple layers of sunscreen. When i go on long hikes in the summer I'll end up with 4+ suncreen reapplications incluing some from a thick sunscreen stick. Its a total game changer and gets all the sunscreen off much better than a foaming cleanser without eye stinging. I think it would be good for kids too. I also use it sometimes in the evening to remove makeup or just for a gentle cleanse.

Works very well as the first step cleanser. Gentle on the skin, non-greasy and removes the make up and sunscreen easily.

This has to be the best face cleanser/makeup removers I have ever used in my 42 years of existence. Now before I tell you about the product - let me tell you about my skin: Uber sensitive, oily T-section, very prone to breakouts, blackheads, eczema, blotches, allergic reactions, you name it. I just look at some cleansers and my skin breaks out. I wear contact lenses, and my eyes are sensitive too. Now the last thing I would ever think of putting on my face is anything that has an "oil" in it, yet alone a product that IS an "oil." First of all, logic dictates that oil and water don't mix, plus if you've ever dripped salad oil on your chin, you know it's impossible to get out - and your skin feels greasy even after 2 showers later. And then you break out with a pimple there because your pores got clogged. Right? Now getting back to this product. I was watching one of those shopping channels on TV, and this really pricey cleansing oil comes on. And the lady just rubs the cleansing oil into her skin with her dry fingers (no water) and the makeup just melts off. She rubs it into waterproof lipstick, takes a white cloth and the whole thing wipes right off in one swoop! Noo... that's impossible. Then she does it again on her eyes - dry hands, pumps a few drips of the oil into her hand, massages it into her eyelids, and within 10 seconds later even the waterproof mascara gets wiped away with the cloth. Now there was no way I was going to pay $120 a bottle for their cleansing oil, so I went on Amazon to see if there was a comparable alternative. I came across this DHC one and figured, what the heck? Wow! I cannot believe it - this stuff works incredibly! I did it the same way as on TV, and my eyeshadow, waterproof eyeliner, and waterproof mascara, even the glue from false eyelashes just comes right off. I just pump 2-3 pumps of oil in my hand, close my eyes, rub my face with this oil for like 10-12 seconds, feel around for the cotton pad on the counter without opening my eyes, and wipe away the oil around my eyes, lips. Then I cup my hands with warm water and splash it on my face several times. Supposedly you don't have to use water, but I do. The oil comes right off - no oily feeling at all. And my skin is smooth. Now this sounds crazy - but the blackheads around my nose area - 100% gone! Somehow this oil (over a week's time) works better than any clay mask I have ever used in removing clogged pores. Just in case you also wear contacts, you know contacts plus any oil is bad and makes red, itchy, dry eyes. So I usually remove my contacts (just in case) first, and then wash my face. Or if I have to put my contacts back in right afterwards, I do use a normal cleanser for my face afterwards in my eye area, just to ensure there's no trace of oil. So far (been through 3 bottles) I have not had any problems. No breakouts, no scrubbing to get off makeup, no itchy skin, no blackheads - actually I think it might be protecting my skin somehow because even during this itchy pollen season, I'm perfectly fine. Love love love this stuff!!!
