Rock Solid - A gym in a box. Very impressed
Been eyeing something like these up for a while, to use instead of my outdoor pull up bar during the long, cold and wet Scottish winter months.First of all, delivery was prompt, a day earlier than predicted by Amazon's tracking. The product itself is extremely well packed, every part is individually wrapped and secured with cable ties.I can't remember seeing something so well packed before via mail order. The bars are indeed a nice matt black, slightly textured finish. Time to assemble was about 20 mins, "helped" by an enthusiastic 2 year old and a mad kitten. You'll need a 3/4 spanner for the nuts. The feet are solid, chunky affairs. You should feel pretty stable, unless you try using them on a laminate or similar surface. You'll want carpet, mat etc so they don't slide.Aside from that, they are perfect. You can do inverse rows and tricep push-ups with just the one parallette, obviously for dips and L-sits you'll need both. They are a good height. I have monkey arms, but was able to get full range of motion from the floor. Back levers are also possible (well, in my case, only the early stages of one). Unless you have freakishly long arms, you should be fine getting airborne. With dips you will need to bend your knees but that helps work the core so all good.I tried dips, l-sits, a very poor planche, inverse rows ( for you Convict Conditioners these are ideal for Step 2),a back lever and the aforementioned triceps skull crusher. All perfectly stable.I hate it when people review things they have only just bought ,but seriously, if I don't get back into shape , it's because I've been too lazy to use it.I cannot find fault with this.If you're on the fence, get off it, buy these, and start building some serious strength.Update 2017-01-09 : you can also hang gymnastic rings from these to make press-ups more challenging. Flys could also be incorporated, though you will have to experiment with the correct placement of the bars. Still loving themThis is a portable gym, limited only by your own motivation and innovation, for a ridiculously cheap price. Considering the build quality and free delivery, this price is an absolute steal.Update: 2022-08-02Turns out I'm a lazy bugger. Not in shape. But these are still ace.

My new favourite piece of equipment!
Absolutely fantastic Parallette bars. Where do i begin? For the price of £39.99 which they were going for when i bought them, you really can't go wrong. I toyed with the idea of making my own beforehand for a few weeks and eventually came to the conclusion that this is the best option really. You get a lifetime guarantee with gravity fitness, they're solidly built, lightweight and easy to put up. Honestly, an awesome investment and worth paying for. I chose to go through amazon because of the free delivery whereas on the official website the price is the same but you need to pay for delivery. They also arrived like 2 days later too so an excellent service. In regards to the bars themselves, they're a nice height (about hip height on me, i'm 5' .6'') and make it easy to start off working with exercises like leg raises, dips, invert push ups, etc. They're relatively lightweight and don't take up a huge amount of room. They're aesthetically pleasing (a nice matte black) and sturdy. I haven't had any issues with any movement whatsoever while I've been swinging around on them and my housemate also had a play and i'm 77kg, he's 92kg.The only points i'd suggest noting really before considering these options are;1. The bars are a little small in diameter so at first they're a little awkward to get used to (feels like the handles should be slightly bigger - but could put tape around them to make them more comfortable) - They're very grippy and no issues with slipping, just a little thin on the hands2. I can't fully outstretch my legs to the floor when hanging them for dips so definitely need to bend the legs (only really noticeable when changing from handstands to v-sits, have to tuck legs in rather than swing) (Also note, I've not seen any taller than these so it's not really an issue, just a note)Seriously though, all in all these are an absolute incredibly fantastic product and i'd recommend them to anyone. I will certainly be looking at the smaller ones in future when i'm a little stronger too.I'll upload some photos as soon as i can to showAny questions, just ask!

Sturdy but with design flaw
Was surprised how heavy these were when I picked up the package. The round bar has a pleasant diameter of 38 mm which feels nice on the hands. The feet are however less good. When tightening the first screw I heard a loud crack (and I wasnt even cranking down on it). Removing one of the plastic covers at the ends I could see that the bolt is just welded inside and since that is a quite far way down from the end it must be difficult for the guy welding. So the bottom weld broke loose. Luckily it was also welded at the top which has a pull from the nut so it will probably still hold together. But it sure felt a little disappointing on the initial sturdy look. Making the bolts so difficult to weld properly is a design mistake and I dont really blame the production for it.The feet was also rocking on the floor but after some bending I got them to stay flat and stable. I would have preferred the feet to be cast for example and with a smooth taper towards the ends. With the square tube it feels a little clumsy especially when you lie below them. The height at 80 cm also felt a little low for me, especially because of the square tubes that removes around 5 cm when above them. I might make my own wood feet and use only the round bar sometime. But for dips and other exercises above they feel nice and stable.
