Ronseal 6886271-HHW Smooth Finish Filler Multi-Purpose Ready Mixed 900g, White

Really liked using this product. New to DIY and needed to repair part of a wall. This was perfect for the job. Easy to use, no mess and great finish. Had to do 3 layers to fill the hole but was really quick to dry between layers.

Really good value here — the filler goes on smoothly, dries in a couple of hours, and sands down easily for a strong, neat repair. It doesn’t shrink or crack, and takes paint well, so it’s reliable for most DIY jobs. The only downsides are that the 900 g tub could definitely be bigger, and it can be a bit tricky to scoop out the filler from the bottom once you’re near the end. Overall though, a solid product that does what it promises

I use this for my decorating instead of the other brand. Gives a super smooth surface, I'm having to fill great crevices in old plaster, & it's working perfectly. Easy to use with the tool provided, but I use plastic filler knives, bought from Amazon too. I found the metal ones weren't so good to get a smooth surface, ready to paint. You don't need much to fill either, it spreads nicely. The container could be better, the product dries quickly, so my tip is to not snip the opening tab fully, it's better at resealing the container. I recommend this brand, the price is good at Amazon too.

Good value and the quality is good

The Ronseal 6886271-HHW Smooth Finish Filler does the job well overall. It dries quickly and gives a nice, smooth mirror finish when sanded properly. I especially appreciated being able to smooth it out while still wet using a damp sponge — a handy tip for a neater finish with less sanding. That said, sanding it by hand was more effort than expected. I ended up needing the electric sander, which created a fair bit of dust. Also, the tub design is a bit impractical — the narrow opening makes it tricky to scoop out filler with a standard filling knife. Another issue: the product dries out quite quickly in the tub, so I’d recommend covering it with a plastic sheet under the lid between uses to preserve it. All in all, a decent multi-purpose filler with a smooth finish, but a few small design and usability improvements could make it even better.

I’ve been really pleased with this little tub of filler. I bought it to fill 76 (!) holes left by the removal of shelves when selling my house. It was super easy to use and sanded down well, and the fills were invisible once painted. Plus I barely used half the pot. Six months later I’m using the same pot in my new house. I used the plastic covering provided to ensure the filler didn’t dry out and second time around it’s just as good. Definitely recommend this, even for novice DIY-ers like myself.

I’ve order this lots of times and it’s good but pls Ronseal improve the lid. It’s useless. After a while you’ll find you can’t seal it properly and then it dries out.
