You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. For photos, on a bright Sunny day, with ND filters, you can leave the aperture of your camera much wider open and retain that sought after background blur at a much slower shutter speed. This allows you to keep much more blurred background if you're tracking a moving object like a car for instance.....rather than freeze all the motion, including the background. Where these filters have really helped me is when I use them for video recording so that I can get that cinematic look. By drastically reducing the shutter speed down you will be amazed at the difference....the footage will look dramatically different in a great way, both in terms of smoothness and the background blur. As a result of experimenting with this set of filters, I was able to make a much more confident decision to then purchase a Cokin Nuance ND 32 glass filter, knowing what the effect was going to be. These filters are plastic so you need to treat them with care...and that is all good practice for when you invest in a higher quality glass filter......glass breaks when you drop the filter.....so actually, all filters need to be treated as if the were worth a lot of money...!!! To give you a rough idea, on a fairly bright day, at f 2.2 a shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second will be reduced to a shutter speed of about 1/125 of a second when you use a ND 32 filter ......So, if you were shooting video at 60 frames a second, you would retain the background blur and now have a much smoother looking footage. I have several lenses with a range of filter sizes, my trusty 40mm pancake with its 52mm thread, a Sigma 30mm Art lens with its 67 mm thread, a Tamron 70-300 mm with yet another thread....so using the adaptors is great.....each lens has its own adaptor screwed on. This means much faster set ups and this keeps the filter much closer to the lens rather than using a bunch of step up adaptors. As with all things, yes, sure, higher quality glass will produce better and better results and that is just the same.....but that is like comparing my 40 mm 2.8 pancake lens with my Sigma 20mm f 1.4 Art lens. Anyway, please try these out, it might just set you on a much better track to improve your shots. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value *by J***A on 23 June 2018* I'm a little undecided yet as had mixed results. Some good some not so good but that could be my fault being new to photography. On the whole well worth trying at the price. The number of adapter rings you get means you should always have one available to fit the lens you are using. These feel solid and fit the lens easily. I had no issues with the filter holder or the filters they were all delivered in perfect condition. However you will need to take care removing them from the packaging. Some of the filters are easier to slide into the holder than others which means they may be small variations in size but nothing that prevented the filters being mounted just a little more fiddly. The whole package is easily contained in the provided case which is also of good quality and solid construction. Only time will tell how they stand up to ware and tear. Overall pleased with the total package as it does feel good value for money for the beginner. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Its great to have so many adaptor rings so I can ... *by M***H on 9 September 2016* Hoping to take this out on a field trip shortly so may come back to update this review. For now though and first impressions... Some of the filters needed a wipe to remove little residue, but that is not an issue. The filters fit the holder well - no chance of them slipping out. Its great to have so many adaptor rings so I can spread these across my lenses. The holder itself of course can take any correctly dimensioned ND or grad ND should I chose to upgrade on the 'glass' quality - no need to buy additional or different holder or adapter rings. The rings are well machines and easily, smoothly, screw to the lens. The bag is sturdy and spare room enough to pop extra batteries for my camera in or other small accessories.
