Excellent Upgrade.
My main telly is a 55" Sony 4K UHD HDR etc. etc. I recently bought a 42" Philips model which has "Ambilight" for the conservatory and I really like it. After checking out various options I chose this 2m LED TV Backlight USB Bias Lighting with 16 Colors and 4 Dynamic Mode for 40 to 60 Inch HDTV to fit on my Sony TV. The kit arrived quickly in a surprisingly small box. The kit comprises four LED strips, which were connected together in the box and so have to be separated, the remote sensor is attached to the end of one strip, three connecting ribbon cables, four spacing brackets, USB cable and easy to follow instructions with a useful troubleshooting section. After cleaning the surface at the rear of the TV and deciding where to fit the spacing brackets for the LED strips I went ahead and fitted the strips themselves, making sure all the direction arrows were pointing in the same direction. I did have to lift one strip at the top of the TV to reposition it slightly and the adhesive backing is showing no signs of coming unstuck. I then connected the small remote sensor to a spare USB port on the TV and switched on. The remote control works perfectly even though the remote sensor is out of sight on the rear of the TV. One thing I did find though was that one of the strips was showing a different colour to the other three. I checked the troubleshooting guide and realised I had reversed the polarity of one of the strips. This was easily rectified by disconnecting the strip, turning the plug on the ribbon cable over, reconnecting it and Bingo! All working. My TV is on a stand and sits about 18" from the wall, which is white in colour. The LEDs, even on their lowest setting still cast a pleasant hue. I prefer the 'smooth' dynamic setting which cycles through all available colours. This kit does not have the facility to follow the colours of the picture or the beat of music like the Philips Ambilight does. Such aftermarket kits are available which use a camera mounted on the TV, to monitor the colours on the screen and adjusts the LED's accordingly.I didn't want or need that level of funcionality. I love the simplicity of this kit and the pleasing results it gives. For less than a tenner, I think this is a no brainer upgrade.

Great LED lights
Bought for my bedroom and I am not dissapointed.A great range of bright colours with different modes allowing for brighter or dimmer colours.Remote is easy to use and the product itself is cheap and reliable.Only slight negative is the sticky part of the lights does not last for long.

Didn't use on TV, still perfect for purpose.
I bought these to light up a corner display cabinet as I thought it looked dark inside and needed lighting. I decided on these as they would be more interesting than plain white. Super easy to install and bright. The sensor to turn on/off/change colours is infrared, so you need to be able to see it when using the remote, expected this. 16 colours available including plain white or 4 different flash/fade effects. On a static colour the brightness can be changed, very useful and they are overall excellent quality. The lights are equally bright on every setting and colour and don't flicker. They come with an installation guide and further tape if the stuff already stuck to it isn't good enough. Both weren't necessary for me. The lead is a little short, but the right size for its intended purpose, but this was easily rectified with the usb extension I ordered with it. Excellent quality and an excellent price, getting another.

Does the job well at a great price
Easy to apply.the length given Fits on 3 sides of 55inch TV(1 each vertical⬆️ side and 2 strips needed running horizontally ⬅️➡️)I fitted mine in my usb 3.0 connection behind TV as it offers more voltage for max brightness of these the picture shown was at night at max brightness. I tested this on I phone charger and can confirm the max brightness of each colour was increased by about 20 per cent. The lights come on when your TV is on and turn off even when on standby mode and remembers your last light setting. Has different light modes and the remote is ugly functional and is kept hidden as I don't change the colour often.Has the choice of multiple RGB colour options.Has been up for a couple weeks now and so far so good have left TV running every day for several hours. My tip would be to apply at night and before sticking use blue tac and play about with how far you want lights to TV perimeter to control how much light bleed you want. In the picture above attached the lights about 6cm from edges. This will depend on the back colour of your TV(mines silver so more reflective ) and the colour of wall and the distance from wall. I am fussy
