This was a really good value purchase and my dogs continue to enjoy it added to their dinners. It is especially good if they ever get uspet stomachs, when just a good dessert spoonful instead of their usual meal really works to settle everything down perfectly. I usually divide each tin into smaller portions of a couple of spoonfuls popped into bags, and it freezes perfectly. This is actually described as Pure Pumpkin PIE FILLING in the listing but is infact just Pure Pumpkin so no worries that it's full of added sugar etc. It is really difficult to source and despite having to buy it through desertcart, this is actually cheaper than Tesco's advertise it (although I've never found it to buy locally at all) I am sure you could make a fabulous Pumpkin Pie with this lovely product and it certainly does taste delicious, but I've never made one myself.Maybe next time. With canned goods I don't really bother with the expiry date as it is mostly for stock management. The most important thing about any canned goods is bumps & dents. I home feed my two girls & they have been eating this pumpkin for years (eight years in one case & six the other) and they are happy & healthy! Even if I did, sometimes doing all the work of cutting, scraping, baking and preparing the pumpkin meat to cook with just takes too long. This way I have the pumpkin meat ready on hand and can use it in all the ways I want to. I've always used Libby's, so it is a brand I feel comfortable with.
