A little expensive but it should last a long time... This Liquid smoke does work well in marinades and for a 'quick' smoky flavour addition to dishes/recipes. There is a slight synthetic element in flavour (if you have a more refined pallet) but having said that it does not detract from this being a useful store cupboard ingredient... You will never achieve the results of a true barbecue or smoker with anything other than a barbecue or smoker. This works well in BBQ sauces and to add last-minute smoky flavours to a recipe.
