Typical of such controllers, you are probably working on a project or build that requires control of a surplus automotive DC motor or other type of larger motor (the kind that has a permanent magnet inside). In my case, I had a 12v car windscreen wiper motor that needed to be started, turned slowly and stopped at will AND be reversed in direction.This controller offered everything I needed at a very good price (with 24 hr deliver under Amazon Prime). The specifications limit the current to 3A (4A peak for 30seconds), so please factor that into your DC motor needs. My project draws 1A~2A, so works well with the controller.The controller offers a DPDT on-off-on rocker switch to control voltage polarity (to allow the motor direction to travel clockwise (CW)-off-counterclockwise (CCW)) and a B-type (linear) 10k potentiometer: turn one way for fastest speed, turn the other for zero speed (but this should not be used as the OFF position in your project...). There are onboard LEDs for main power (green, very bright), and two red LEDs for CW and CCW direction indicators.Small observation: the heatsinks mount to L7812CV 12V (1.5A) voltage regulator - so if your DC power supply is higher than 12V (30V is advertised for this controller), then that will start to dump energy as heat and things will get warm/hot. The pulse width modulation comes from the 80NF70 power MOSFET that switches at 500Hz.Overall, a nicely packaged board of through-hole components with all the controls you need. Recommended.

Main advantage is size and price as well as the required power input. Extremely valuable for RC modeling and especially in the case of fuel pumps to fill and empty the model tank easily from a panel.

I used this with a 5V voltage booster stepped up to 24V and this product cuts out at almost full throttle so I was unable to keep the full 24V it claimed it can do. It may be my voltage booster but I haven't had a problem with them.

Decent enough. Solder on one of the pot pins was quite flimsy but an easy fix when required.

Great little product, wires to switch are a little heavy but no real problems once reterminated
