Fantastic product, well worth the money
Fantastic product, well worth the money. These are a lovely creamy texture which is a joy to work with. the core is firm enough not to crumble when sharpening with a sharp scalpel so there is not the wastage that you can get with a cheaper product. The colour range in this box is good and the colours are vibrant and colourfast. Highly recommended, in fact, I will not use another make after trying Caran D'Ache.

These are great for pastel drawing and easy to use.
These were recommended to me in my art class and I found them excellent for drawing animals.

Excellent product
I bought these pencils for my wife's birthday. Highly recommended by her, if you are looking for something softer than the regular pastel pencils and she was very pleased to see a tray full of more neutral colours. Very nice selection.

Disappointing quality
Firstly, the colours are beautiful! They are soft and chalky and blend very easily. Unfortunately l find them virtually impossible to sharpen. I like a fairly sharp tip and with all pastel pencils l gently remove the wooden casing with a sharp craft knife then sharpen the pastel core with sandpaper. I bought a set of 40 pencils and l normally lose 1 -2 inches of pencil just trying to expose enough pencil to sharpen the pastel....... and l am NOT heavy-handed. I thpught it might be a dodgy set that had been mis handled so bought a few individual pencils. They were just the same. It makes an already expensive set of pencils virtually unaffordable for me. Its a shame but I'll have to go back to my Carbothello's and my Faber Castell Pitt pastel pencils.
