Yes,but the weight must be stable, then after couple of seconds, the weight is seen and hold automatically ( for maybe 10 second).

Does anyone know if this is water resistant?

Probably. I think it would be ok to use in light rain, but wipe dry after use. If dropped in water for several seconds it would not be happy

Does this do small amounts accurately, such as 100g loss from a 1kg bag?

I tested three items: a 655 g mototool, a 2.110kg, and a 35 g roll of tape. I tested the weight of every pair of items hanging together and all were exactly what they should have been (2.765 kg, 2.145 kg and 690 g). So I would expect this to easily detect 100g lost from a 1 kg bag. I can't say what the absolute accuracy is because I have no calibrated weights. Resolution is 5 g. Linearity appears to be very good, and that is the most important quality for your application.
