Efergy Elite Classic 4.0 in-Home Energy Monitor Single Phase (EU 3 Phase)

I have used an inferiour make for a few years on my EV charger which broke and I found this. I can not believe how easy it was to install, pair and set up. It just worked! A very good, detailed manual and an equally easy single page with abbreviated installation instructions. This is now on my recomended list for other users. Thank you.

I cannot believe people haven't picked up on the glaringly obvious fault with this device. Despite CT clamps typically having to be attached in a specific direction to the house tails (usually denoted by arrows marked 'to meters and 'to consumer unit' this CT clamp give the same reading no matter what direction it is attached. This device is therefore blind to the 'direction' of electricity flowing in/out of the house. The power now figure in kW is always displayed as a positive number, and there is no indicator of export happening. So if this meter reads "6.50kW" I don't know if the house is being quite thirsty for power or whether the solar system is doing a good job. This is not made clear in the sales literature, and in my mind an utter fundamental flaw of the device. It will be going back for a refund as this cannot be deemed accurate in the slightest. With a DNO export cap of 11kW, this has the potential to be incorrect by over 48kW!!! Sort your products out!

I think it is a good compact device and definitely useful. The problem is the back light failed almost immediately and before I got it completely set up. Disappointing, I have it mounted in a well lit area so I didn't return it. That is why I give it three stars. This is the second one I bought the first is still working after many years.

I chose this energy monitor because it had been reviewed in the WHICH magazine and had been rated their Best Buy. The price was good compared with some of the others available, it was easy to set up, is not too complicated and gives me all the information I want. The display is clear and easy to read and can be illuminated if required. Quite fun to use and the results are interesting, though I dont know if I will save me any money ! One very small gripe, it requires six AA batteries ( three for each unit ) and these are not included with the monitor

The monitor does not work with solar panels. The FAQ page on their website returns a 404 error. They don’t respond to emails. Customer service is non-existent. Extremely poor company and a worthless device when used with solar panels. Even one star is too generous. I returned it.

Siccome lavoro nel settore della metrologia elettrica, ho voluto provare quanto fosse precisa la rilevazione della corrente di questo sistema. Ho quindi utilizzato un generatore di corrente campione a diversi valori di corrente (da 0,6 A a 20 A) e ho potuto rilevare che la misura rilevata è leggermente inferiore al valore reale, e che l'errore medio di misura è inferiore al 3% in tutto il range di misura, con l'errore che aumenta nelle misure inferiori ad 1 A (240 W). Siccome viene misurata solo la corrente e poi viene effettuata una moltiplicazione per il valore della tensione (impostato sul misuratore) per ottenere la misura della potenza (W=V * I ) per correggere il valore misurato basta aumentare il valore della tensione impostata (dopo averla prima misurata) del 3%. La tensione di rete nominale in Italia è di 230 V, impostando sul display una tensione di rete di 236 V la misura di potenza risulterà più vicina al valore reale, cosa che ha una certa importanza se si utilizza la funzione di allarme di sovracorrente. Il misuratore effettua una lettura ogni 10 secondi (modificabile a 15 o 20 secondi), quindi è normale che la lettura non si aggiorni immediatamente appena si attiva un dispositivo sulla rete elettrica. La soglia di allarme di sovracorrente può essere impostata ad intervalli di 250 W, e avrei preferito un intervallo di 100 W, ma comunque svolge la sua funzione. L'installazione è velocissima, e non è necessario avere il contatore in casa. Siccome si deve posizionare il sensore solo su un conduttore di alimentazione (che sia fase o neutro, misura lo stesso) potrebbe essere necessario aprire la scatola di derivazione principale, quella con il salvavita dell'appartamento, per poterlo collegare. La portata del trasmettitore copre di sicuro 7-8 metri, non ho fatto prove a distanze superiori. Complessivamente un buon prodotto ad un costo contenuto, non è certamente uno strumento di misura, ma permette di tenere sotto controllo i consumi e di evitare che il limitatore dell'impianto intervenga in caso di superamento dei limiti di potenza, che era quello che stavo cercando. Tenete presente che una pinza amperometrica fatta bene costa oltre 200 euro, quindi le aspettative devono essere sempre correlate a quanto si sta spendendo.
