Up to the job and worth the price
I carry this pen, along with a Rite in the Rain notebook, when auditing lift installations. Dirt, dust and grease mean regular notebooks and pens get wrecked. With this pen I can take notes, fill in log cards and annotate drawings in the worst conditions, including when you get drenched accessing building roofs. When you first get the pen it feels a little light but its performance means it is well worth the money.

Great little pen with very few flaws
I use this whilst working in a warehouse and its not let me down yet. Writes on paper, card, stickers and my hand when covered in muck and grime with no problem. Not tried it in the rain yet (warehouse doesn't leak) but it does all that it claims to so far. If I were to nit pick the clip on it is REALLY tight which does make it secure but a pain to clip on and off sometimes. There are occasions where I've had to scrawl for a second or two to get the ink flowing but it's literally a second or two then it works fine. Writes at 90° vertical with no issues, metal casing is nice and strong (been dropped a few times and doesn't show it) and generally looks sexy and functional. The only other thing I'm not crazy about is that it can be pretty easy to unscrew the two halves. Never had it totally unscrew but a quarter turn every now and then makes me slightly twitchy. That's literally all I can criticise it on. Great little pen that I swear by to the point where I've just ordered myself a spare and my father and brother will be getting one for Xmas (along with the RiR pads which are also Lucille-level AWESOME) Nothing is indestructible or infallible but for the money this is as close as you can reasonably expect.

Functionality, quality and price.
A second rite in the rain purchase bought specifically for admin as a volunteer on ultra marathons. Having read other reviews, some which mention Fisher Space pens being superior to rite in the rain pens and ink refills, I subsequently learned both rite in the rain pens and refills are manufactured by Fisher. Examination of my original pen confirms ink refills are indeed manufacture by Fisher, as per the attached video!

Nice pen, but it feels a little to fragile ...
Nice pen, but it feels a little to fragile for a pen of this type. Long-term durability is untested, but it looks great and functions well with Rite in the Rain notebook paper.

It works!!
Well, I've used this pen and the matching workbook for years for 'important notes' (work stuff) outside. Usually after driving many miles when I really don't want to get back and find I just have blobs of wet ink. I've always wondered whether this pen (and notebook) really does what it says. It does. I've just completed a job where I was out in the pouring rain for about two hours. Everything (including me) was soaked and the pad had water running over it (especially after I dropped it in a puddle). The pen kept writing and, after all had dried out, everything was solid and clear. Oh, and I've dropped the pen loads of times, and it's been fine.

Amazing Pen
I tested this out in the rain in conjunction with Rite in the rain memo pad - and it works a treat. I was sceptical at first but it really does work and is a great addition in your backpack when walking/cycling in case of accidents. I was in two minds as this isn't a cheap pen but it is definitely worth the money. I also recommend the Rite in the rain memo pad which is nice and small and has loads of pages in it. I would recommend this product.

Flow is terrible, _especially_ on RITR notepads.
I bought this against my better judgement for the higher price because i have a small RITR notepad that i love, but normal ballpoints struggle to write on the special paper, and any other type (gel, for example) flood onto the paper. It's terrible - the only way to write extensive amounts is to have a nearby piece of paper to "scribble" on to get the ink flowing, you need to do this before the first time you write after a while, and also sometimes even just when you lift the tip from the page. Maybe i've got a bad unit? Apart from that, it's a nice sleek little metal pen in matt black.

Does what it says on the Tin, er Pen!
A bit pricey but works. Its heritage seems to be Fisher Space Pen which write under water etc so combined with the Rite in the Rain paper it works nicely.

Working in PNG in one of the wetest parts of the world the pen works a treat even in heavy rain when combined with a rite in the rain notebook, it even writes across greasy fingerprints which is a bonus

This pen is everything I have ever needed in an ink writing instrument. I have been using them exclusively for 5 years. Stop reading and start buying. Ok, you need more info or convincing? Continue. PROS Design - Its a click pen. Press down on the top half to expose the ball point. Less parts means less parts that can fail or go missing. The pen is lightly textured. The pen is easy to hold but it doesn't excessively wear your clothing. The clip is durable and effective. I haven't had a clip fail yet. Ink cartridges are replaceable. You can also get it in shiny gold if the mood, desire, or uniform requirements deem it necessary. Writing - Obviously a big feature of the pen is it can write in the rain. Which it certainly can and will if on the correct paper. It will also write upside down or if you find yourself in zero-g and need to take notes. The pen writes very smooth. CON Thy neighbors will covet thy pen. After you buy this pen, keep your peepers on it. People WILL try to walk away with it. SUMMARY If you have a job or hobby where you use a pen often throughout the day, this pen is worth the purchase. Yes they are more expensive than a classic Bic pen, but the quality is absolutely fantastic. At the time of this review, the pen is $15.70 and PRIME eligible.
