Great value for all the features, don't ask too much from it!
This is a great micro-multitool which disappears into your keys when not being used. The Dime is a really small, lightweight tool which has pretty much everything you'd need in a keyring sized tool. I think a lot of the negative reviews are from people who are expecting this to behave like a full sized tool. Knife - Great, sharp right out of the box Bottle Opener - Works really well, not as awkward as it looks in your pocket! Pliers - Feel solid but very thin. I wouldn't trust them to do anything more than very light work, but they are very precise and can be used as tweezers. Wire cutters - They work well on thin wire, wouldn't try them on anything sturdier. Package Opener - Works really well, I do wish they had put a can opener here instead though, its the only thing this tool's missing File/Small Driver - As other reviewers have said the file is too smooth for anything other than fingernails or soft wood and one side of it is obscured by the lanyard. the driver works well though and feels sturdy. Flathead driver - Feels as sturdy as a real screwdriver, a bit too wide for smaller flatheads but the other driver works for most of those. Could also be used as a scraper or chisel in a pinch. Scissors - Cuts all the way through, works on fingernails etc and feels solid enough for bigger tasks if needed. Tweezers - Nice to have, but a bit redundant as the pliers work so well as tweezers and are less fiddly. Basically this is all the tools you might need to pull out in your daily life in a miniscule package, you'll forget you're carrying it until you need it. It's asking too much to expect the tools to be as effective as full sized or dedicated ones but with the exception of the pliers its impressively sturdy. One last thing... buy it from amazon US and get it shipped to the UK for half the price!

Can't recommend this enough
This is the third Gerber Dime I have purchased- this time in black. This one was a gift for my Dad as he had seen and really liked my other two that I have on keyrings. They are the perfect balance of being tiny, functional, and high quality. My oldest tool of this is looking a bit worse for wear after a few years with paint chipping off gradually, but in terms of functionality it is exactly the same as the day I bought it. All of the individual tools are useful in their own right but my personal favourite is the box cutter- I use it daily!

Smaller than I thought...
Great little pocket knife. Made from great quality materials for the most part and looks real cool. Used mine mainly as a box opener as it's quite a bit smaller than I expected, only about 2 inches long when closed up. It's a real shame the pliers broke the very first time I used them as no the whole thing just flaps there, it won't stay closed... Oh well. Oh and the black finish is only microns thick so any little scratch is super noticeable.

Great little tool
Handy tool to add to a key ring. Its a little expensive for what it is as a full size Gerber multi-tool is not much more. Its quite heavy so you'll know its in your pocket. Downside is that its pained black which has already started to wear way in places. The tools don't lock in place but also don't seem to fold in unexpectedly either.

This Gerber Dime is sturdy and well made
I bought this to replace a similar but very cheap item that had been on my keyring for a lot longer than I thought it would last. This Gerber Dime is sturdy and well made, it looks good, is practical and works well. The only negative is the nail file which is about as abrasive as a wet, soapy lettuce leaf.

Brilliant for what it is
I bought this to go with the small first aid kit I carry with me in the “kids bag” for days out. Being a ‘prepared dad’! It’s tiny, and it’s really just a super light weight / small utility tool for emergency use, but for that purpose it’s outstanding and I wouldn’t be without one. It’s “saved the day” several times. I have a full sized leatherman in my car but for out-and-about I’d recommend everyone has one of these in their bag. Splinter removal, emergency fixing of things, medical uses, prizing things loose; the list is endless. All prepared folks should have one!

Decent but fragile
Was a good solid multitool at first, lovely sharp blade and decentish flat heat screwdriver however it was a bit prone to bending. Completly snapped the plies when trying to cut through a small wire with not very much force at all, hardly any resistance and then suddenly snap.

Great for opening bottle and parcels, but does not last...
Pros: - Light and easy to use - bottle caps can be opened with exterior of tool - dedicated box cutter is very good (not seen another EDC with a dedicated tool quite like this) - Scissors very handy and effective Cons: I have had 2 of these in the past 2 years, both have failed under light use - pliers retaining springs will fail with only slight pressure - pliers are brittle and will not cope with any sideways pressure - box cutter spring no longer holds tool in position - phillips driver has snapped tip - flat blade has twisted - file is too small to be any use Conclusion: If you want an EDC for very light use (parcels and bottle caps), this is great, if try to use for any screw that is even slightly tight, or apply even small force on the pliers it will break! Not suitable for filing anything... Would I buy again? No.

Piccola ma comodissima ed utilissima
Sta in tasca senza dare alcun fastidio.
