Dinosaurs Magic Painting Book: 1 (Magic Painting Books)

My 4 year old loves these magic painting books and we have ordered them time and time again since he was 2. This is the second time we have had the dinosaur book.It is easy for children to ‘paint’ lots of different colours and the bonus is there is minimal mess to clear up afterwards. The colours are vivid and bright, although it is easy for the colours to bleed into each other, however I don’t think this really matters as long as the children are enjoying the process. I have found it can be quite therapeutic for adults to do too.Pages can be torn out easily, and there is an extra cardboard flap that should be used to stop the water from bleeding into the page behind it.Pictures are very detailed and can spark conversation for children about what they can see.

I remembered magic painting books fondly from my youth so got this for my 7 year old son and I to enjoy.My memory of magic painting was that generally the colours were a bit muddy and the paper a bit thin and cheap but that it was still pretty fun.This Usborne Magic painting book was INCREDIBLE! The paper was really nice quality, each page is perforated so you can remove them from the book if more than one person wants to paint at the same time. If you don't want to remove the page you can keep them in the book and the back page is a glossy thick card that folds in behind the page you're working on so the water doesn't soak the next page.The colours were just amazing - they come out really bright and the pictures looked really cool when they were finished. My son is not at all into regular painting but even he had to do several pictures in a row because they were so much fun.The water does soak through the page if you're not extra conservative with the water but that's not a problem if you take them out or remember to use the protector.The brush provided was also really good quality.We really enjoyed this book and would recommend it very highly.

I recently wrote a not so great review for another of the Usborne painting books, so felt I had to redress the balance. This book is great and with the card at the back you can bring forward it stops the colours leaching on to the next page. Each page has great details but I would say there is a bit of precision needed to get it really good, which my 3 yo grandson didn't have. Some of these books go back to blank pages to do again, but this one is finished when done and stays painted.So much better value for money than the previous one, so have not been put off buying from Usborne again.

Only needs water to activate…3 year old dinosaur obsessed grandson loves it, parents too..!!

Great quality and colour

Both my 3.5 and 8 year old have enjoyed this magic painting book. It's one of the nicest quality ones we have used, thick pages and good colours. Its also a great item to entertain kids when out and about, eg when eating out at restaurants or to take on holiday, as all you need is a little water. Perfect for small kids as its not as messy as getting all the paints out!

I brought this for work. In the school I work in we have a daily intervention to develop attention. The idea is that items used have to have a wow factor for the children. The children loved it. They were fascinated that just using water could create a wonderful coloured picture. I'm giving the book to my granddaughter to complete the other pictures too and I'm sure she will love it just as much as the children I work with.

My 3 year old loves these books (we've had a few from the range) and I love the fact it's pretty mess free- depending on how much water he applies some of the colour can lift from the page but it's not a problem.The paper edge is perforated so you can remove them cleanly from the book and we have sent some of them to family during lockdown as a way of saying hello and also cut some of them into jigsaws for my little one to piece back together.

This book was purchased for an older disabled person who enjoys adult coloring books. He's recently been enjoying the water paint reveal books. He loves the colorful dinosaur designs in this book.

Libro con ilustraciones de diferentes dinosaurios para colorear con agua, colocando una lámina que tiene para que no traspase entre páginas. Hay que colorear sin salir de cada parte del dibujo, para que no se mezclen los colores. Lo veo adecuado a partir de 7 años, ya que requiere precisión, los dibujos son elaborados. A mi sobrino le ha encantado e incluso iba perfeccionando la técnica e imaginando de qué color sería cada parte.Me parece caro, trae 16 dibujos, eso sí, le ha entusiasmado tanto que los terminará en un par de días, se merece las 5 estrellas. Si abres el plástico del pincel solo por arriba, podrás volver a guardarlo y llevar el cuento a donde quieras. Con pedir un vaso de agua, un buen rato de entretenimiento.
