Good, simple thermostat
In a world of app connected expensive thermostat, this is a great, simple, thermostat. It's obviously not a programmer but if you want a secondary temperature control around the house, or want just a thermostat, then this is for you. Easy to connect in and nice and durable. If you want the cable going out the side you'll need to cut a notch into the side wall. Simple turn control for setting the temperature.

Basic but still the best
This is a basic thermostat, no frills, but still does the job.We have 7 in our home to control the various circuits for our wet underfloor heating system. They are easy to install; I just connect the wires as per the initial installation, having taken a photo beforehand for reassurance. Suffice to say they work, particularly after I have calibrated them using a more accurate thermometer - a simple task requiring taking the temperature at the same height as the thermostat, then adjusting the dial on the bezel until the temperature is accurately matched. The main failing with this item is the quality of the plastic, with me having to replace all of the dials over the 16 years we have lived at our home. The plastic seems to decay and become brittle. I had to purchase a new unit simply because the plastic pillar supporting the fixing screws fractured and the whole of the thermostat mechanism broke away, leaving the heating running continuously.Suffice to say, allowing for their faults, these units are really good and work quietly in the background without other problems. Just wished they made them out of more durable plastic.

I got a real Honeywell thermostat, it works, but they lose a star as it was late and needed chasing
They lose a star as the product wasn't delivered on the date promised and I had to chase them up (during a cold winter when I really needed a working thermostat). To their credit they did send it out quickly once I complained and apologised. It was a genuine Honeywell thermostat which fitted perfectly to replace my old broken one and has worked fine for two years so far.

Easy to fit replacement for old failed unit
Used to replace 20 year old unit that had failed when the dial cracked and came off. Easy to replace if you have basic electrical DIY skills. Do turn off the power before connecting!

Easy to fit and worked perfectly first time.
This 'stat was simple to connect, the instructions were easy to follow and are suitable for either a replacement 'stat or a new installation. The advice as to location is sound and should be noted. Totally isolate your boiler before you start - I took the plug out of the socket and go ahead with your wiring. I found it easy using four core flexible cable so only 'one cable run rather than three core and a separate earth. Particularly good value and great if you don't need the sophistication of a wifi system.

Good quality mechanical thermostat
This was bought to replace the old hall thermostat, which was basically an earlier version of this one by Honeywell. It had paint splashes on from a previous owner's DIY efforts, and was a hideous mushroom colour - it had to go when we redecorated. It is a simple but effective mechanical thermostat, so does not actually need a neutral connection like purely electronic ones do - i.e. it can be used with 2-wire cables as well as 3. However, if you have a simpler heating system with just the one stat for the whole level, and no individual radiator or room stats, it is desirable to have a neutral connection as the 'anticipator' device will reduce overshoot. The cable to our stat in the hall has only 2 wires and it was not practical to rewire without major disruption, but as we have individual radiator stats in every room. the hall stat is pretty much redundant and is normally left on max
