works better than my old brand
my old sharpener was chewing up my pencils. I now have 7 different types of sharpener. My pastel pencils keep breaking. maybe they go bad after time , heat , cold etc. it is frustrating.

Derwent Pastel and Charcoal sharpener
Just received my sharpener and sharpened my pastel pencils. After a while the leads kept breaking. I tried another sharpener from another producer and they sharpened the pastel pencils so much better.
