Keeps coffee nice and warm but scratches far too easily
Replaced my Contigo Autoseal Travel mug with this as it was starting to show its age.My main reason for choosing the Byron over another Autoseal was mainly due to the change in design of the lid. The Autoseal had a screwtop lid which housed the spring mechanism which 'auto seals' after you let go of the button. Unfortuantely this makes it almost impossible to clean properly as these moving parts inside the lid cannot be removed for maintence meaning that there is always brown coffee gunk stuck up in there (not good). The design of the Byron however means that it is very simple to clean the inside of the lid as there is nothing to get in the way.Snapping the lid open can be a bit tricky with one hand as it seals very tightly. Probably a good thing as it means it is very unlikely to spill. This mug is nice and large and means I can enjoy coffee throughout my entire morning since it easily keeps its contents hot for at least 4 or 5 hours. My main problem with this travel mug (much like my Autoseal before it) is that the metallic finish gets scuffed and rubs off far too easily. It is possible to scratch it off with your fingernail without too much effort (see attached photo). If you keep your travel mug in some sort of bag than you can pretty much guarantee that the painted finish is not going to last very long. I wish they had put more coats of laquer over it to properly protect it. Worth pointing out that I have only ever hand washed the container in warm soapy water so I can't blame the dishwasher for ruining the finish of the mug. I will no doubt end up having to use some paint remover again like I did on my previous Contigo Autoseal to remove all of the paint to take the mug back to plain metal to try and make it look better than it currently does (be careful if you do this to fully wash and rinse the mug). The mug was ordered through the Amazon Global Store program and was delivered in less than a week from the USA. Well worth the wait as it was almost half the price of the equivalent item in the UK amazon store.

Do not buy, in comparison to other contigo this product is very poor.
I purchased this for my mum to replace a smaller contigo she has had for years. There's still nothing wrong with her old one it's just a little small for her needs. THIS ONE THOUGH.... The seal continually comes out and the inside appears to be rusting ? There's definitely marks all over inside that haven't appeared in years on old one. Either contigo standards have drastically dropped it there is something wrong with this mug.

Unfit for purpose, seller SUPERMARKET USA not interested.
My husband has had this exact cup for 18 months (bought from Tesco) with no problems - best travel cup he's ever had he says. Just bought another as a replacement as his previous one is battered and bruised. Bought from SUPERMARKET USA through Amazon and it is not fit for purpose. The inner rubber band seal keeps coming loose from the lid (handwashed) and seems to have stretched after less than five weeks of use so will no longer stay put and cannot be drunk from without spilling down your shirt. SUPERMARKET USA are not interested and have closed my return request because we're 'outside of the return period'. FIVE WEEKS. If you're happy to pay the best part of £15 for a cup that lasts a few weeks then go ahead and purchase (you might get lucky and get a good one but I'm not the only reviewer to complain about the seal) because if it fails more than a few weeks after receiving it you won't be able to return it. SUPERMARKET USA, your customer service is appalling. FYI, if you're near a larger Tesco, they sell these 16oz cups for £12 and you don't have to wait four weeks for it to be delivered.

Superb hot and cold reusable cup
Superb product. But then again i absolutely love this Contigo brand and own several cups. I usually fill it up with something hot in the morning and refill it when i get to work. As long as the lid is properly dry it shouldn’t leak. But there are times when it has because i haven’t dried the lid. The lid is quite tight and once opened can be left open to drink. Holds a lot of liquid, which is good for me, as i drink so much throughout the day. It is a very tall cup, which means you will need a tall brush to get through it. If you’re making a hot liquid then it will leave stains. At the moment i am using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda which seems to work well ish. I haven’t tried any other products to clean it. I recommend cleaning after each use, so that stains do not build up, otherwise it is very hard to clean. Doing my bit for the environment. Contigo brands are my preferred choice, because the suction is so good that liquid can stay hot/cold for long periods of time. I’ve found if i place about 100’c in a bottle then it will stay hot past 4 hours.and more than that for cold drinks with ice.

Opens too easily and leaks!
I had the push button design Contigo for nearly 10 years, and it was perfect - could be tossed in the bag with no problems. This model snaps open SO EASILY that it regularly opens and leaks coffee everywhere (even positioned neatly upright, as if anything bumps the lid, it opens). If you're using it in any other way that holding it totally upright in your hands, it's not worth it at all, really frustrating. It does keep coffee hot though - so at least your bag will be warm when it spills everywhere?

Disappointing - leaks too much.
This is the second review I have left for this product. The more you use it the worse it gets. Three of us had the same Byron travel mug and they all have the same fault - the rubber band/seal keeps coming out so it leaks and the band stretches so you can't fit it back in properly. You can't even buy a new seal you have to buy the whole lid - and the lids are always sold out - so we are not the only people having this problem. Such a shame as I like the size and it does keep drinks at a good temperature but I wouldn't buy it again.
