Solid basic graphics tablet and pen
I found the new windows 10 update caused the Ugee tablet program that came with the tablet on the cd to disappear so there was no icon displayed in the taskbar. I had no way of changing the Express keys and most of the Hot Cells wouldn’t work! Looking online I saw this was due to the pen driver being over wrote by that lovely Windows 10 update. Looking on the Ugee site they have a new driver to fix this problem with the older tablets. Now I am not a really techie person and had to ask my husband how to use a .rar file. I managed to unzip it. Following a bit of common sense and a hint from the new driver setup I removed the older driver from my pc. Unplugged the tablet and clicked on the new drivers setup.exe. When instructed plugged in the tablet and now had the user icon back on the taskbar.Because the driver is for a few other tablets as well had to redefine the keys. Funny enough rather enjoyed doing that. A bit fiddly but not that hard to do and was able to set the Express keys to open /close etc. The Hot Cells I am still setting up. Once I realised a shortcut on my pc was for me the easiest way to link a cell to a particular program. Worked for me so not arguing. Now after only a weekend of learning and setting up have the Ugee 1000L running well. I use it as a mouse mainly because a normal mouse after a while hurts my hand. Have enjoyed the way the Ugee pen speeds up my work flow. So more natural for me to use a pen. The new update allows full use of the whole of the tablet. I can have access to my whole pc screen from the tablet, sweet! Not bad for the price and knew the tablet was an older model when ordered it. My husband has been using his model for a few years now. It’s great the company have supported their customers with a driver update.

It's a bargain.
My partner and I recently purchased a Ugee 2150 pen display: it’s a great device, so good – in fact – that we found ourselves arguing over using it. Buying a second one wasn’t an option, so we looked at the alternatives. Enter the Ugee M1000L.Box Contents, Build Quality and Design (7/10)For such a low-cost device, we weren’t expecting much from the unboxing experience – what a pleasant surprise, then, to find the device well packaged and much better looking than the product photographs would have you believe. Yes, the shiny plastic on the left is a bit of a finger-print magnet, but that’s nothing a regular wipe with a cloth can’t sort out and on the whole the device looks and feels more expensive than it is.You get almost everything you need in the box. Unlike the Ugee 2150, the pen included here is not rechargeable and requires you to supply your own battery – it does, however, appear to be fully compatible with the rechargeable pens, so if replacing batteries isn’t your thing, you can easily upgrade it. Otherwise, you get an instruction manual, driver CD (as with any device, it’s best to download the latest drivers from the internet) and pen holder with plenty of replacement nibs.Build quality is more than acceptable – it’s a solid device and, when placed on a work surface, there’s no discernible flex at all. Other reviewers have commented on the feeling of the physical shortcut buttons and how the USB cable is fixed, but our own experience doesn’t fit with those complaints: we found the buttons to have a solid, tactile “click” (it takes just the right amount of pressure to activate the switch) and there’s also no feeling of play either; meanwhile, the lack of a detachable USB cable just means there’s no risk of losing it.Of course, at this price point, not everything is going to be perfect which brings us onto what we think are our two (and only two) very minor complaints. The first regards the physical keys: out of the box, the default shortcuts setup in the driver didn’t match the icons printed on the device. It’s very easy to re-map these (to pretty much anything you want, actually), but it leaves you thinking that Ugee shouldn’t have bothered printing anything on the left-hand side of the device at all. Secondly, and similarly, there’s an odd selection of express keys along the top of the tablet – they’re a great idea, but again Ugee shouldn’t have bothered printing specific icons, as you’re very likely to re-map these too (or disable them entirely, as we did).Other than that, the design makes a lot of sense – the active area is a really good size (just right for a normal 21-24” monitor) and has a textured surface, more closely representing the resistance you get when drawing on paper stock. I particularly liked this, as I’m more used to working with traditional media.Ease of Use and Accuracy (9/10)With the exception mentioned above, setup was a breeze – it actually worked using the drivers from our Ugee 2150, but of course those drivers lack full support for the device. Installing the correct drivers took no time at all (note you can only have one device installed at a time, to avoid conflicts) and there’s a remarkable amount flexibility and control.Where this device really sings is in its accuracy and pressure sensitivity – once properly setup and following a short period of adjustment (there’s a slightly steeper learning curve here than for a pen display type tablet) it works like a charm: it’s exceptionally accurate, the pen can be used equally well at any angle (something the digitizer on most pen displays can’t do well) and the pressure curve is just right. We’ve attached two photos – one of me working on the device within Photoshop and a screenshot of a quick sketch my partner did in Rebelle – which we hope helps demonstrate just how well this tablet performs.Value for Money (10/10)At the time of writing, the Ugee M1000L is available at less than £40 – that makes it the cheapest 10x6” graphics tablet available on Amazon. It’s also worth pointing out the seller, PNBOO TECH, are very proactive in supporting their customers – of course, your purchase here is Fulfilled by Amazon, so you get their excellent customer service too, but it’s really nice to see a seller going the extra mile. Conclusion and Overall Score (8.7/10)Unless you need a specific feature that’s not included here (wireless connectivity, for example), there seems little reason to spend more on another model – our complaints are minor and cosmetic in nature and can easily be overlooked at this price point. The Ugee M1000L does its job excellently and would make the perfect gift for someone dipping their toes into digital art, indeed we imagine it easily matches devices several times its price. In short, it’s a bargain.

A very nice tablet
I work for a web design company and have always liked the idea of getting a graphics tablet for the office to try out. I've seen many tablets in the past but what I liked most about this Ugee tab was the nicely sized work surface, 10" by 6" in total. The item comes well packaged in a large box and the tablet itself is housed in a protective foam sleeve. I found the user manual very easy to follow, it is advised that you install the drivers before actually connecting the tablet via USB. I run windows 10 at work and the tablet had no problem linking up to the PC and worked instantly. The tablet and pen can be fully customised from the Ugee software that is installed along with the driver. You can find a link to the software within system tray that's in the bottom right hand corner near the time / date. The main design programs we use at work are the creative cloud versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. The tablet had no problems linking up to these, I had read on a review somewhere that the tablet struggled with Photoshop CC but I can confirm there were no problems with the tablet running on the latest Photoshop CC (2017 version). The tablet will work on pretty much any design based program so please don't feel it is limited to Photoshop and Illustrator, there are even plenty of pen app available on the Windows App store. The pen feels nice in the hand and the subtle rubber grips adds to the comfort. The pen holder is a nice addition and it also acts as a storage space for the additional pen nibs. It's worth noting that the pen needs 1 AAA battery that is not supplied, it's worth getting one ready beforehand. The Tablet itself has a series of very useful shortcuts that are fully customisable. The majority are very useful and I wouldn't imagine you would need to alter many of them. The one shortcut that did throw me a little was the MSN shortcut, I personally have not used MSN since 2001 so thought that was something odd to place on a graphics tablet. That being said, you can set these shortcuts up to be whatever you like so it's no big issue.Overall a very nice graphics tablet that appears to be very well built to a high standard. So far it's going down well at work!** I hope you found my brief review and photos useful **
