This is the second yogalates DVD that I have bought in this series and I am a big fan.It is useful to know before you get this DVD that you will need some small hand weights (or baked beans tins???!!), a bolster or block may also be required but you can survive with a cushion! As previously mentioned, this workout is split into sections. The first sections focuses on the upper body (arms and abdominal muscles), the second section works on legs, the third section features sun salutations and finally a relaxation session. If you can commit to doing this DVD two to three times a week you will definitely see changes in your body. I have been doing it regularly for two to three weeks now and my core muscles and arm muscles are noticeably more defined. I thought it would take ages to see changes like this so I'm really pleased. I have also noticed since starting this workout regime that whenever I go out on my bike or go for a swim now my endurance has really improved.I have previously had yoga lessons and I think without this I would find some parts of this DVD difficult, however, the beginner is catered for as modifications are shown by the lady on the left! It is worth becoming familiar with basic poses like plank, downward dog, warrior I&II etc to get the most out of the DVD. Don't let this put you off, however, but you will need to persist with the DVD and not be tempted to give up when some of the poses get a little err...intense!Overall, I really recommend this DVD. Louise Solomon's DVDs are the reason I started yoga in the first place and are much cheaper than a class now I'm a student. Plus they make me feel happier, stronger and healthier. Go for it!

Fantastic dvd and workouts. Bought as I need to help strengthen my back and lose weight due to chronic back pain and sciatica. Was recommended by a friend.

Remarkable Results
I've only used this for less than 2 weeks but quite simply, the results are remarkable. I've never done either Yoga or Pilates before and my days of being a gym bunny are long past. Within just four days doing the routine daily I could see results. I have suffered with terrible back pain in the past but I found the routine fairly easy (there are a few challenging parts that I have now mastered) and generally gentle and calming to do. My core strength has improved dramatically and muscle defiinition has become quite pronounced. There have been a number of comments about Louise's 'annoying' voice. Personally, I don't agree. She is softly spoken with a gentle Australian accent and I found her whole delivery clear and calming. I even surprised myself with how readily I actually relaxed at the end of the routine. I have gained a huge sense of well being in doing this DVD and look forward to mastering the others I have bought. I can't comment on any dramatic weight loss as I have been watching what I eat anyway and although I have experienced some weight loss I can't honestly put it down to using this DVD. I have however, experienced inch loss through rapid toning, especially on my back and legs.I've loved it. An absolute pleasure to get such great results without hours of sweating in the gym.

Easy to follow dvd that works from day 1 - great for post - natal women!
I bought this to make a start on shifting baby weight & excess flab from 2 pregnancies. I have only had it 2 days and have already rediscovered abdominal muscles that I thought were long gone. My stomach already feels more toned and my whole body just feels better. I am holding myself better and I'm a lot more conscious of my muscles and how to work them. I have almost zero flexibility and currently slightly overweight but this dvd is perfect for me. Louise Solomon doesn't push you, she coaxes, therefore giving you a feeling that she understands you and is on your side! The postures and poses are mostly straightforward and I should imagine most people would be able to attempt them. Another good thing is that she offers alternatives for yoga specialist items needed for the exercises - I.e. Tins instead of weights, blanket instead of yoga mat, cushion instead of yoga block etc. therefore you don't have to mess about buying loads of stuff - you can just get on with it! I can see how more advanced or fitter people could find this easy, but if you're like me and don't have any fitness level and are starting from scratch, it's ideal. Brilliant exercises for post - natal mums as well - like me!

I miss instruction in the proper performance of the exercises
I have practiced Pilates for over 4 years. In a short period I have also trained Yogalates, which I think is a good complement to Pilates training, and that's why I bought the DVD.On this DVD however, I miss an instruction on how to perform the exercises. - Should they be performed in line with Pilates? - It is not clear from the DVD, and is therefore something of a mystery to me, as I have never practiced Yoga and therefore only know the exercises that I have encountered earlier in connection with my Pilates training. The DVD should have included a section where the exercises were presented in detail!!!Still I think that the DVD is quite good. Technically, I would have preferred to buy it digitally through iTunes rather than as an "old fashioned" DVD. It would give me more flexibility if I could play it on iPad or Apple TV.

a beginner's dvd
I had a hysterectomy about 2 years ago and feel I'm too young to let myself "go".At 40 years of age I havent done much exercise since my kids were young and since my operation I feel my core is no longer.I struggle to turn over in bed...I need a pillow between my knees to sleep otherwise my back aches....I struggle to pull myself up from sitting or out the bath.I have decided enough is enough and I need to strengthen my middle.I decided on this as this most suits my needs.I've always been aware that I have pretty poor posture and if I could loose some weight too that would be great!I try to do a section every day and if I dont manage that,I try to do at least 2 sections every other day. This is more than whats recommended. Its quite a long DVD to do all in one go.I havent been doing it too long - but already I feel more aware of my posture and how I'm sitting.I feel more aware of my middle area. When I first started it I thought this is a bit slow and do I need something a bit more upbeat but I'm hot and breathless after doing it- which is what I'm led to believe exercise (particulaly gentle) needs to be.I havent been going long enough to loose any weight or see any massive changes - but I do know already I have a far better sense of well-being.I feel "really well" when I finished it.As a complete beginner I was completely overwhelmed and daunted by the choice of DVD's out there and I feel I've made the right decision.

Unbelievably easy exercise!
I'm a big fan of Louise Solomon and these workouts are fantastic. They really do work, toning your whole body and losing weight. It's amazing to think that 30 minutes of exercise that, frankly, does not feel like exercise at all, can make such a difference. I always feel great when I've done one of these workouts, calm but with energy and focus to get on with other things. As soon as I get in from work I start the workout, by 5.30pm I'm all done and have the rest of the evening to do what I like! I alternate this DVD with Yogalates for Weight Loss ( the first DVD I bought). Try it and you will see the results. The benefits: not only does it shape and tone your body, you just feel amazing afterwards, more focused and calm, like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. Exercise with all the benefits that doesn't leave you sweaty, exhausted and forcing yourself to do it. I love it!

Not as good as others
This DVD is not as good as others, you have to use weights in one bit and is not what I wanted. I do like the 3rd workout which is the energy workout.
