Yamaha NSP40 5.1 Home Cinema Speaker Kit - Black

Pleased with overall sound but have not yet been able to link the television to the speakers

For the price these speakers are very nice. The subwoofer is quite large so measure if you have limited space options. I have mine hooked up to a Denon Home Cinema AV Amplifier and they sound great. I had to create a special cradle so that I could mount the centre speaker above my television. They aren't particularly heavy and the piano gloss finish and Yamaha badge makes them look nice and pricey.

Ok for the money they are quite good. I didn't want to spend too much on a surround sound ststem so I bought an average Yamaha second hand digital home theatre, and these speakers. They are goodish, relatively cheap speakers. But they are not amazing.My wife thinks they sound great. But she's not really bothered about great sound, 4k, blueray etc. She's more of a, "as long as the picture is decent and the sounds ok, it's good enough for me" type person. For me they won't be the final speakers I settle with. But they will do for now. It gives me the time to decide if I like surround sound or not. This has been a really bad review. So to sum up. Good for cheapish speakers. Anyone close to an audiophile won't be satisfied.

These looked very good, but I missed the fine print where it said they were only speakers -- not the controller or amplifier needed to make them connect and work with your TV, PC, etc. Had to return them, which was easy. Suppose it was only fair that I had to pay the return postage ...

Really tasty for the price, the bass is clean and rich. The crossover allows the bass to deliver all that deep tone without having to shake your living room apart. Although on day one my neighbour thought there was an earthquake and evacuated herself and her baby, it was just Gears of War 4. She got over it.

These little yamaha speakers are fantastic, small in size but pack a punch, only negative point is the sub speaker is lacking the remote switch on and off socket that automatically powers the sub when the receiver is powered up,so you need to turn the sub on and off manually.

My wife was not happy with our previous set of speakers so I had to pass them away. I have to say they were better despite the fact that they were handmade by me except the active subwoofer and the center speaker.The clarity is ok but I hoped for a little bit more depth. Well, it is the downside of the small size. The auto standby should be a minimum from an active subwoofer and it is a real problem. I most of the time forget to switch it on or off and wondering why there is no bass or why is it still on...The AV receiver is a Yamaha RX-V373 so the speakers must be compatible and they are but compared to my previous set it is a slight step back.The pro's:The disadvantage of the speakers are the advantage in the same time : the size. It fits into my small living room nicely and the black piano finish looks good too.I haven't had the chance to unleash the full potential and/or use my ultimate subwoofer test : The Lord of The Rings opening scene especially the part where Sauron explodes. I update my review after, I promise.Whatever I said I still like these speakers and the only thing holding me back to give five stars is the lack of the auto on/off.

These are actually very good set of speakers that really produce excellent sound quality throughout the frequency range. They might be small, but in compression to their performance they out beat any other speaker by a reasonable margin. I was impressed of the level of clarity and bass that they produced, they are excellent if you want to use them as TV speakers since they preform excellent at that scale. On the whole, they will leave some other high-end speakers aside.
