Lightweight cot suitable for bedside or standalone use
Suitable from birth up to about 6 months, the Next to Me can be used as at the bedside (one side open) or as a standalone cot, so it's good if you don't know yet which option you'll like more. We ended up using it in the bedside mode as it is just so much easier for those late-night feeding sessions and for comforting baby with one hand. Unfortunately our baby does not like to sleep on it, but to be fair she would only sleep in our arms so I can't fault the cot.You can tilt one side to slightly elevate baby's head and help with reflux. If you do so, I'd recommend keeping the difference between the two sides at 2: so if foot-side is height 3, head-side should be 5. Less than that and it's barely noticeable; more and baby would slide down. If using in bedside mode with a very high mattress, however, there might not be sufficient room for tilting as the entire cot should be placed at height 6, which is the maximum. This lightweight but sturdy cot comes with a travel bag and it can be folded and stored when no longer needed, which is a plus for an item that you only need for about half a year.

Good product and help in the right direction.
I was at the end of my feather as my 8 week old would not sleep unless being held and I knew I couldn't do this forever.I had high hopes for this bed from reading all the reviews. My son has had a few nights in his new bed and last night he only woke every 2-2.5 hours....which is much better!!!Last night I made sure he was lay as close to my bed as possible and I was as close to his bed as possible and made sure he could feel me next to him. This seemed really successful, as I was putting him down drowsy after a feed which before, was impossible! My advice:- remember all babies are different so keep an open mind and don't be disappointed if a miracle doesn't happen in the first night- during these chilly nights, place a hot water bottle in babies cot a bit before baby goes down to the matress is warm (just to be clear, take the hot water bottle out of the cot when baby is placed in!)- and as hard as it is....persever and have patience.

Best baby product bought so far....
We bought this when my daughter was around 12 weeks old. She has outgrown her Moses basket and was not ready to go into her cotbed. Fast forward 10 weeks and she is still in her Chicco next to me crib and she is extremely comfortable. I do not feel in any rush to put her into her cot as it is more than roomy enough to accommodate a 5 month old.Despite other reviews I have read, we have found it very sturdy as a standalone option and did not feel the need to buy a separate mattress. The option to tilt the crib has been invaluable as our little one suffered with silent reflux up until around 4 and half months old. However since that has improved she has had a cold and once again being able to keep her sleeping on a slant has made her much happier at night. If We are lucky enough to have a bother baby I will probably ditch the Moses basket altogether and look into a sleepyhead type mattress that a newborn could sleep on and put them straight into this. A fantastic purchase, one of the best baby products we have bought so far.

Great crib
This is a brilliant and very versatile crib with so many functions. We mainly bought it to use for side sleeping during those early nights with a newborn. It is great having your baby so close for breastfeeding and simply to check on his wellbeing. It saves a lot of worry for the first time parents. It can then be used as a free standing unit in later months. It is big enough to last at least six months, and in our case it may last up to eight, as we have quite a small baby. Our baby has acid reflux, and the crib has a very useful feature of lifting the top end to help with that. Some may think that it is not cheap as the baby will outgrow it quickly. Yet it is a very sturdy product and will last for your next child, or you can always sell it on, as it is very popular in the second hand market.

Plenty of room in it and will easily get 6 months out of it
Got this to replace a moses basket that my little one was growing out of way to fast. Plenty of room in it and will easily get 6 months out of it. Only fault is when you've got the side down and attached to the bed it's quite hard with your own bed covers as your got to really tuck them in so they don't go on the baby . Just concerned me a little and made me nervous. I ended up putting the side up and my little one is still very happy in it. Other than that it's been brill . A lot of people asking about what sheet size to use . I just use standard cot sheets and tuck them in well as the special sheets for it are v expensive for what they are .

Steady, stable, strong, durable, and practical in every way and looks neat.
This is the best bedside cot I had ever seen. I wanted to avoid a Moses basket as I have other children and I was worried they might knock a Moses basked down. Moses baskets are very unsteady on their bases. This one is very stead and stable. I was worried about dropping one side next to my bed for a while, but then had the courage to and never looked back.. Also, it is a larger than a Moses basket yet still small enough. The legs have sides that can bend to allow fitting in small corners. It looks very neat and tidy. Expensive compared to Moses basket but when you see how its made and what its made of, the cost is justifiable. My only regret is that it is hard to find a decent mattress protecter and fitted sheets for its size. The recommended mattress protecter has large meshy sides that don't provide a full coverage.

Fab!
Tried a Moses basket and a rockable crib before buying this. Wish we'd just have had this as would have made life much easier to start with.Height is easily adjustable with 6 different settings meaning you can get it to the perfect height to see baby when you have the partition screen down. Makes peaking at baby a case of opening one eye rather than a full wake up and peer in- invaluable when in a sleep deprived state!Cot can be used as a side sleeper and attached to bed/mattress with straps or indepenently with side zipped up which means you can also use it as a travel cot. It comes packed quite flat so will be ideal when heading anywhere as should take up too much room in the car.Should only be used when baby is immobile so will need to move baby into cot when sitting but fab for the meantime. Small things like this make such a difference when you have a new baby.
