Fast charging on the go has arrived!
Often charging your mobile device while on the move can be a frustrating experience, particularly whilst driving. There are plenty of cheap and cheerful 12V USB chargers available, but many of them are ineffective, trying to replenish the juice on an almost dead phone can seem to take forever. Fortunately, help has arrived in the form of the TeckNet iEP170.After receiving my charger in the post I decided to put it to work almost immediately. The charger is supplied in frustration free packaging, no scissors required here. Included in the small box is the charger, an instruction manual and a product registration card; when you register your device online you receive a 2 year warranty, which is nice and unexpected for a low cost item such as this. The charger itself has a glossy piano black finish, it's approx 46mm long and it seems to be well made. After reading the instruction manual I was good to go. Simply remove the cigarette lighter from your dashboard, install the TeckNet iEP170 in it's place and start your cars engine. A blue LED will illuminate which lets you know you have power, however, I expected the LED to be a little brighter, I found it was difficult to see in bright sunlight. Finally, plug in your phone or tablet.Important: Only after you have started the engine should you connect your mobile device, failing to do this could damage your device. So, how did the charger perform? Very well as happens. The dual USB Car charger made light work of charging the battery on my iPhone 5. When I connected my phone to the charger my battery was on 37%. I decided go for a drive to Tesco, when I got there 14 minutes later my battery level had increased to 54%, which equates to a 1.2% increase per minute, I think that's pretty impressive for a car charger, in fact it beats USB 3.0. Out of interest, I connected my iPhone to my PC USB 3.0 socket for the same amount of time (14 minutes), during this time the battery level only increased by 9%, which equates to a meager 0.6% increase per minute, I wasn't expecting that!As an additional test, I also connected my iPad to the charger. Some chargers (PC USB port included) will not charge the iPad, this is because the USB ports on computers or laptops puts out 0.5 Amps; or about 2.5 Watts. The iPad charger is much more powerful as it puts out 2.1 Amps; or about 10 Watts. The TeckNet iEP170 puts out a beefy 4.8 Amps; or 24 Watts, and because of this additional grunt my iPad detected the power source immediately and began charging happily.Overall, this is a great little device which does exactly what the manufacturer claims, and charging your phone on the go has never been so quick!

Very useful, sleek and stylish little adapter for a great price
I was looking for a compact USB adapter for the cigarette lighter in my car, as the USB port provided is hidden in the centre console and gets easily buried underneath tissues, mints and sunglasses etc as well as the various cables (Micro-USB, USB-C and Apple) that we have to carry on a family trip these days. This is easily accessible and provides the functionality to charge more than one device at a time which is practically essential in these days of lots of devices, all with seemingly tiny batteries! It comes well-protected in a protective cardboard box alongside a small user manual and warranty card, and is small and compact, approximately the diameter of a new £1 coin. It looks good in the car, with it's sleek, glossy finish and doesn't protrude too far up (just under 30mm from the bezel of the socket), so even with 2 cables fitted won't affect operation of any of the controls in that area. When plugged in it emits a very gentle blue glow from the USB ports, so is easy to find at night.Charging time is as good as I hoped for, even with 2 devices plugged in - one of those is invariably my phone which will add a little bit of charge over the course of a journey, even with GPS on and a bright screen. It does everything that I hoped for and does look like a 'quality' product - maybe not Apple levels of styling and desirability, but it wouldn't look out of place in even the most expensive car. Would highly recommend.

Good, but could be a little better
Before I bought an in-car USB charger I spent quite a bit of time looking at what Amazon had to offer. As ever there was a lot of choice but with a lot of products getting some rather unsatisfactory comments, in particular about products that couldn't charge devices because the power output was too low, only charged Apple devices or had poor fit/connection to the 12V connector in the car.I have been using it for about one month, about once or twice a week, so my usage hasn't been heavy.I selected this device because it provides the 2.1A output so in theory can charge my iPod, my smart phone (Samsung), my work Blackberry and an iPhone 5 or tablet. So far I have tested it with the iPod, Samsung and Blackberry handsets and it works ok with all of them. I haven't tried out an iPhone or tablet. One of the common complaints in reviews was with noise on the radio, and I experience this once, but I can't remember which device the problem occurred with (probably the Samsung phone). As it has only occurred once I can't rule out that it was just problems with radio reception. If the charger is part of the problem, then I suspect that I suspect the problem is specific to the combination of the charger and the device being charged, as this morning when I charged my Blackberry there was no problem at all. When I first used the charger I found it a tight fit in my car charger. It doesn't use the "standard" design of having sprung contacts. The one instance of radio interference and the fit are the reason I haven't given this item a 5 star rating.

Brilliant, chargers pixel 6a at rapid charging rate
Want sure if this was going to be a wise purchase or not until it arrived. This is the second tecknet product I've purchased and I am so impressed I would be and are now than happy to purchase any of their products from now on. The voltage indicator works very well and is great for an idea of three state of battery life on a car.The usb c port is a rapid charging port, I can and do verify this as I have a Google pixel 6a and if you are looking for a car charger to work with this I can say it does. The usb c is a pd (power delivery) port and I would easily recommend this pretty to anybody looking for a charger for the car.Well done tecknet, amazing products at great prices. I will be looking at your brand in future purchases

Procedo a devolverlo a Amazon.
