Outstanding quality and price
This is a stunning lens, just brilliant. The 35mm f/2 is a 50mm equivalent as the fuji x system is apsc sensor size. This has been my favored focal length for a very long time and is perfect as a walkabout lens.If you're debating whether to get this or the 35mm f1.4 unless you absolutely need that bigger aperture the 35mm f/2 is going to be ideal. The only real difference being that wide open the f1.4 is a hair sharper in the very center of the frame. The 35mm f/2 is lighter, quieter, weather sealed and the auto-focus far quicker. The detail, micro contrast and sharpness really are top tier. I can't overstate that enough. This really is a fantastic lens and presents outstanding value of money. The pictures included are all unedited jpgs straight out of camera.

A fantastic standard lens for Fuji X
This is my second copy of the 35/2 WR, and I've shot extensively with the older and pricier 35/1.4 as well. I can only say that both copies of the WR have been beautifully sharp and very well made. The lens is light, weather sealed, and feels great on the camera (currently shooting an X-E3). It's very good wide open at f/2; at f/2.8 most of the frame is bitingly sharp; you'll need f/8 if you really need the extreme corners critically sharp, but I'm perfectly happy to shoot at f/5.6 most of the time and enjoy critical sharpness and extended DOF (diffraction is noticeable at f/8 but it's minor). I suppose I should mention that the lens relies on software correction for distortion, with the consequence that corner sharpness drops off rather suddenly, but it really is only the extreme corners and I've never found it to be an issue in real world photography. I really wouldn't pay more for the 35/1.4, despite the guff you read on the internet, it actually isn't very sharp wide open, and doesn't shine until around f/4. It's also much slower to focus, bigger, heavier, and noisier.By the by, I also own the 23/2 WR, which I can firmly recommend if you prefer something a bit wider. It also makes larger and crisper sunstars than the 35/2, if you like your diffraction flare. Some reviews seem to conclude that it's inferior to the 35/2, specifically not quite as sharp, but I'm not sure I agree. I don't shoot test charts though and it's possible there's some sample variation going on and I got lucky with my copy, but again, it's an excellent light weight lens and well worth considering.

Fujifilm XF 35mm prime lens - a great all-round compact prime lens
I bought this Fujifilm 35mm f/2 WR prime lens, primarily for use in wet conditions (the WR refers to Weather Resistant) whilst I was on a walking holiday, as I didn't want to leave the camera behind when out on the trail. I haven't tested the WR aspect fully as the promised rain never came! The lens is one of the XF range and is designed for Fujifilm cameras using the designated X-series of lenses. The lens is very compact and lightweight and I had no problem carrying it in my camera bag (lens attached), which itself was in a rucksack, with my other gear (raincoat, water bottle etc - the latter was on the outside of the rucksack!). It is built to Fujifilm's usual impeccable high quality with a metal body; I can't fault it.The lens is not image stabilised but is so fast that I had no issues with camera shake. I did compare it with my Fuji 18-55 kit lens and there is, naturally, some loss of a landscape view when compared with shooting, say, at18mm but it isn't really an issue.I find the lens brilliant for portraits, street photography and where 'tighter' landscape views aren't a problem. The two JPEG examples of a stream running through woods (ISO 320, 1/160 s, f/2, 35mm) and an 18th birthday cake (ISO 160, 1/1960 s, f2.8, 35mm), have not been cropped or edited in any way.The level of bokeh (background blurring) is pretty good and easily achieved. Detail and colour rendition is superb and the lens is an excellent all-rounder for most conditions, settings and locations.Using a fixed focussed lens has helped me see things from a different perspective as I can't be complacent about where I stand as opposed to simply zooming in or out to get the frame I want. The lens is used with my recent purchase, a Fujifilm X-T3. It is one of those lenses that I'll carry with me most of the time as I don't believe in investing a lot of money in a camera and then being forced to leave it behind because of a bad weather forecast.Overall, I am more than happy with purchase and look forward to using it on a regular basis.Highly recommended.

Ciao
