Nearly silent and very powerful
I've had my last Insinkerator for over 30 years until it failed suddenly and blew the main circuit-breakers on my mains board. When I removed it I could see it was well past being fixable. But I really cannot complain after that track record! So I invested in a new one, and bought the top of the range model, as I had done with the previous unit. It was a little trickier to install as the makers have changed some of the dimensions, meaning I had to go out and buy another drainage part. But once I'd obtained that the new one was as simple to fit as the last one. The only real concern is whether your sink fitting is able to stand the weight of the unit hanging from it, as it has to support the whole weight - there's no other support. You'll also need to prop the unit up underneath as you offer it up to the sink hole becuase it's heavy. A strong assistant helps here too. On first switch on I was astounded to find that this model is nearly silent - you can only just hear it above the sound of the running water. Amazing and a very welcome development as the old one was noisy. I could go on and on about the benefits of a waste disposer but I'll leave that to Insinkerator. All I'll say is that I really missed having one when the old unit broke down. Oh, and don't listen to anyone who says you can't run hot water through an Insinkerator. You can, and use it just like a normal sink drain - BUT when you're disposing of food waste then you MUST use cold water, to keep the unit cool. Simple! All in all I love these machines in my kitchen!

Great bit of kit
Replaced an older InSinkerator unit which seized up.This one was much more expensive but is virtually silent compared to the old one, and is made of stainless steel. The air switch works well, the old one had to be switched from the wall.I really appreciate that the fittings have not changed so I only had to twist the old unit off and twist the new one on thus saving some time. The outlet fitting has changed slightly so had to replumb it but am not complaining about that, only mentioning it.Someone else asked why instructions say not to use hot water, I believe this is standard for all waste disposers.Hot water will increase the possibility of clogging by melting fat and put extra strain on the bearings.

Great sink Waste Disposal, but..... batch feed users beware!!!
Great product, and I bought it to replace earlier one which had died (after 9 years). It's the same mark and model as before, so in principal easy to install. Why four stars and the "but..."?I use the batch feed adapter, so I can control the waste disposal by turning the plug. This new disposal had some new design in the interface used to affix the batch feed unit, and my batch feed did not fit! This is a change that Insinkerator don't seem to be communicating clearly.I had to cut out all new raised tracks from the collar, which took around an hour. It all works fine after, but insinkerator could do a better job of keeping their products consistent, specially when the model numbers aren't changing.

1st Class Waste Disposal Unit - This and the batch kit was a straight swap from the old ISE 78 unit!
Purchased this to replace old our ISE 78 batch waste disposal unit that had failed after 10 years service. I was worried as there was no direct replacement for the old ISE 78, and went for this top of the range model and separate batch waste conversion kit. Thought it was going to be a nightmare to replace - however ISE have really thought about this - turns out that once you add the batch kit to this Evo 200 model, you simply follow the clear instructions to assemble both items together, take the old unit out and fit the combined new unit in place. No pipework changes, went straight in.Well done ISE - it's clear that this was not luck but designed that way.The disposer itself is so quite and almost silent compared to the old unit - whilst not over the moon that the old unit failed - this new one is excellent and was a not too difficult as a DIY job - but I would recommend having some help as two pairs of hands made life much easier

Worked well until it failed! Very poor support...
This unit, not cheap, proved a bit of a disappointment. It worked well for 18 months, then the rubber outlet seal split. The plumber was amazed and suggested it was of poor design as the thinnest part flexed most. But as this was just before Christmas and we were fed up with the unit leaking all over the floor, we bought a replacement seal (for £25). Don't know how long this one will last, presumably another 18 months. Emailed supplier, but no response.Update Jan '19 - Insinkerator refuses to refund cost of replacement seal. They seem to expect people to manage Christmas with a failed system, ie until one of their chosen engineers can come out. It's a bit of a scam really to make it highly likely customers unwittingly invalidate the warranty. Also, if you phone Insinkerator UK (as advised from the US), no one answers and the greeting starts with Are you still there? How weird is that? Wouldn't recommend buying Insinkerator again. Appalling backup, and product quality appears to be slipping. Shame.

Great product and simple to fit.
My old In-Sink-Erator Model 75 failed after working perfectly for 17 years. It was not repairable. Called the original supplier who told me my model was no longer available but said the Evolution 200 was a suitable replacement. Shopped around and found it on Amazon £100 cheaper than elsewhere. Standard delivery and it was here in 3 days, very pleased with that and it came well packed. My husband had the old one removed and the Evolution fitted and working in about one and half hours. He found it so easy to fit that he wondered if he had missed something out, but no its worked perfectly ever since. It is a heavy unit and with limited space under the sink, my husband used a car jack to ease it up into position before clamping it, this worked well. As others have said the unit is very quiet. Delighted with this purchase and with the included six year warranty.
