Lights
We love this fish tank. Mainly because it comes with its own filter and the lights are controlled by your phone and it has a night time setting where it will slowly get dark for night and then you can also have a “storm” with the lights like lightening.

A very nice all-in-one tank
There is a lot to love about this tank including the filtration, which is super quiet. There are two large filter sponges with space inside and underneath for additional filtration. I have Chemipure elite with mine. The compartment in the back is nicely sized and allows you to hide the heater and filter. The app for this is amazing. I downloaded it to my iPhone, entered my country, hit “auto” and it is programmed automatically. I didn’t have to fool with buttons, but if you want, you can program it yourself easily. The only thing I don’t like about it, is the feeding slot is small, so if you want to target feed, you have to remove the hood. It’s the same for water changes, which is kind of a pain. Overall it’s an attractive, good tank. I got mine off of Petco, and only paid $300 with my vital care discount.

Not worth the money - I wouldn't buy it again.
I want to love this tank, and it really is nice, but it's pretty overpriced considering what you get. My biggest complaint is the light. Sure, it has a phone app (Bluetooth only that doesn't work with Alexa, Google, etc.), but it is pretty sub-par. There are much better apps that come with $20 lights, and they include WiFi. It's not very bright either, so I considered buying a second, since they advertise that you can mount two of their lights in the tank. But I couldn't find an expansion light anywhere. Turns out, according to their support reps, you would just buy another Aquasky light system. So that means I'll have two lights, with two separate Bluetooth controllers. Really? I can't believe they don't have a place to plug a new light into the old one so they can be managed as one. Their support left a lot to be desired as well.Yes, the sump-style compartment is pretty cool. That said, there is room for some improvements there too. For one thing, I'm not a fan of the intake vent locations, and they're stationary. At this price point, it would have been nice to have the whole side be a vent, then have a slider or something to block off certain portions to accommodate substrate placement. In retrospect, I think I could have purchased a basic, cheap 30g tank, and just made my own acrylic in-tank sump. It would have been much cheaper, and just as good (if not better) than what Fluval constructed. The flexed glass is great, and maybe for a while was unique. Now it is becoming more common. I even saw a larger tank at the local "intelligent" pet chain, that had the flexed glass, came with a decent stand, and was only $150. Hindsight is 20/20.Don't get me wrong. I do love this tank, and it is very nice. I just don't love the price, and I had higher expectation for the quality and usability of their features based on the brand/price.While I would never buy another one, I still recommend it if you don't care about the quality of the advertised features, and don't want to have a DIY project. It really does come with everything you need (with the exception of the heater and air pump).

Good tank kit...
While the 123l (32.5 gallon) is a bit expensive for what it is, it's a pretty good tank.I did add a 2nd Aquasky light to the lid. The light that comes with it is pretty nice and is perfectly capable of lighting a normal setup. I thought I might want some hard to grow plants in this tank so added the 2nd Aquasky. But I probably didn't need it. The light that comes with it is completely controlled via your Bluetooth device. There is no remote for it. But you can do a lot with the app that they allow you to download for free. The glass bowfront is a vertical curve and as a result will end up slightly magnifying anything viewed from the front. The whole back of the tank and the top few inches of the glass has a honeycomb rubbery material attached permanently to it. You can with a good deal of effort and a razor blade scrape it off. But it is great at hiding any water scale and the water level isn't then as noticeable. I'd just leave it in place. The internal filter covers about 75% of the center back wall of the tank. The two areas on either side of the filter are visible through the back of the tank. You might want to put some backing on it if you don't like seeing behind the tank on the ends. The filter mechanism is powered by a single high flow submersible pump that sits at the bottom in the middle of the filter. Use some small pieces of foam to keep it away from the glass back or it'll annoyingly vibrate. When padded, this motor is pretty quite. The pump pushes the filtered clean water from the center chamber out the nozzles at the top of the tank. It's got a pretty hefty flow and can be split 2 directions into the tank.If you use the original filter material provided, the water pumped out of the center chamber is replaced by water that flows in from the 4 inlets in the filter, through the foam filter and media. This can provide physical, biological and chemical filtration. However the random nature of the flow through the original filter media doesn't make these filters the best for good filtration. The original foam filters work but I highly advise you to also purchase other brand media baskets and replace the original foams. The non-Fluval media baskets will often force the flow through a better path that brings the water more into contact with all of the filter media. And with 3rd party media baskets, you can usually put more media of varying types in them. The lid has a closeable feeding hole on the front right. To the rear there is a long removable cover that exposes the filtration system so you can install or remove the filters. You can also pop off a section of this cover permanently to allow more access to the pump area. It also allows you space to install a tube heater (not included) near the pump. I also would recommend buying or making some notched sticks to prop open the lid for maintenance. There is no hinge and so you either have to prop it open with both hands or completely remove it to do maintenance in the tank. The prop sticks will keep both your hands free for tank maintenance. If you intend on keeping small fish or invertebrates or expect fry, I highly recommend you also purchase or make inlet covers that have smaller openings. You could also put some thin prefilter pads/covers on the inside of the filter boxes. Also some people make or buy alternate spray bars and such to better spread the water output for fish that prefer slower moving water. But for most fish, the included nozzles work fine. The Fluval 123l isn't a standard tank size. If you intend to use your own furniture, be sure it can hold about 500 pounds of weight and be stable and sturdy. You can get the stand made for the Fluval Flex 123l and it's sturdy enough to do the job and looks nice provided you don't have shipping damage issues. But it's a bit expensive for what it is. You can also buy a stand for a 40 gallon breeder with a solid top. A 40 gallon breeder stand is a little bigger than the 123l tank but will give you a few inches to better protect the tank from bumps. Be sure to layout and use the thin rubbery mat under the tank. It will apply an even force to the tank bottom if the stand's surface isn't 100% level. The kit I got did not leak after a week of testing it full of water and the filter and lights running. It's now fully operational and several accessories have been added. I am quite satisfied with the contents of the kit I received although it had almost no packing inside to protect it's sides or top in the box. The top of the box was thoroughly squashed. Amazingly, the tank was not broken or cracked. However, the lid edges were cracked and almost coming off the lid. I was able to repair them with some crazy glue. The lid plastic is quite thin. This kit could be a good beginner tank and still allow some improvements to be made to upgrade it even farther if you want. You will need to provide a 150W heater and gravel/sand and plants/rocks and chemical treatments and of course the inhabitants. The 32.5 gallons (123l) is not a standard tank size so anything you buy for it will need to be modified for it or made for it. If you want an easily upgradeable tank setup, I recommend you don't do one of the kits as almost all are unique. But if you like the look of this tank, you'll find it quite functional and one that should last you for years of use.
