are these better than poundland tests? anyone know?

I believe the Poundland ones are 2.5mm wide - these ones are 3.5mm so these ones are easier to read.

Can you out these in a clearblue advance holder?

I've not tried them in a holder but seeing as they're very cheap to buy, its worth getting them to see if it works.

How many hours do you have to hold before using? I find waiting 4 hours that the more expensive ones want you to wait too long.

I usually hold for 1.5 to 2 hours and always get reliable results. You should not continue to drink during this time to ensure the sample is not too diluted.

Why am I not seeing a control/test line?

It might have not been used correctly, use something to pee in and dip the test in like a doc would.
