A useful and attractive phone for BT, Virgin lines and Emergencies
For the money, this is an excellent, well made, attractive and reliable phone. It will work on BT lines and lines installed by Virgin Media. Again, it has a good memory facility for the price. Good, long leads are provided. I did have a slight problem that the curly handset lead tended to pull the base off its side table, but this is a very minor niggle, and probably would not be experienced on a desk top, where the user would extend the curly lead less than I did. It is versatile too, being wall-mountable. Both leads are provided, and the one from the base to the wall is a good length. I wanted this phone, because the crazy Virgin package offer on broadband and tv made it cheaper to have a phone line which is unused, than to exclude it.(In this particular application, the phone can be used to make free service calls, which in my experience can often be time consuming and useless). If you have a powered, wireless phone network in your home, this phone would make a useful emergency phone, because it goes on working during a power cut. Overall, I like it very much.

Decent phone
Delivered quickly, packaged well. A nice light phone and fairly easy to use with no problem setting up or calling. Inexpensive and decent quality. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was purely for the fact that the volume on the phone could of been louder ( in my opinion) even on the highest setting I found it was rather quiet and at times when the household was busy found it was difficult to hear from the other end of the line. So if people are hard of hearing I'd most likely go for a higher volume phone as this one is rather quiet. Apart from that, works fine.

Good Basic Phone
I wanted a basic phone for the bedroom which I could mount on the wall to avoid using surface space. This one is compact, fits neatly on the wall and is barely noticeable. It has all the basic functions. The ringing tone and voice volume control are simple and straightforward. The ringing tone is audible but not excessively loud. There is some control over it, but basically it's medium and soft. Same with the voice control. The unit is well constructed and nicely designed. I find that BT products tend to be pretty reliable and this is no exception. Good value for money.

A nice phone for the money.
Quite a nice "budget" phone which I bought for my elderly mother; I think it might be best if wall-mounted though, as the base unit it sits in seems a bit wobbly on the table my mother has it on and is quite light weight - so, on a couple of occasions when I've replaced the handset I've ended up knocking the base across the table. You can store a few telephone numbers and assign these to "speed dial" keys which I've done for my mother. A bit of a minus point on this phone in this respect though, as to connect to a stored telephone number you have to press two keys, whereas on my mother's previous telephone this was a one-key process. Anyway, my mother has got used to this now. On the plus side, the phone looks nice and is compact.

Really good value for money - does exactly what it says
I moved into a new property that decides for me where and when I'm able to get a mobile signal..... Fed up of losing calls 10 seconds in - I got this so I could have a landline again for people to call me on. I mean. Let's all go back to the 1980's please where we also had telephone tables and it was basically a workout in itself to dial someone's number.... :) Sound quality is good and for what it cost - I feel it's really good value for money.

Similar to the BT Duet 20 but the phone has a different curly cable (straight at one end with the BT plug on it.
I had a BT Duet 20 phone for a long while but last week I drenched it in coffee and the button keeps sticking, sometimes when it rings and I pick the receiver up the bell keeps on ringing and when I twiddle the button the caller gets cut off. I actually like the style of the Duet phones so bought the updated 210 model. Someone has mentioned in a review about getting charged for a 15 hour phone call because this phone had not cut off when he replaced the receiver. When we had our first phone ( I was 14) we had a party line so we all ALWAYS checked we got the dialling tone back again before putting the receiver down and I have done this after every call I have made since. Do this everytime even when someone has rung you and you can't lose. All you do with this phone is plug it into the BT socket and you're ready to go. No choice of ring sounds except you can choose a loud or quiet sound and the quick dial numbers (only 10 - numbered 0 - 9) were easy to set up. Sound is great, no crackling though the voices sound a little "sharper" than on the earlier model. One thing which did surprise me is that unlike the previous model the cable from the BT socket to the phone does not plug into the !gondola holder like before - the cable leaves the BT socket and travels along loose and then is fed into a groove under the gondola, it runs along the length of the gondola underneath and comes loose from the gondola and plugs into the handset - in other words no data or sound is entering the gondola at all it goes straight to the handset. I am sure a generic extension curly cable WOULD NOT work with this model as the cable just goes straight from the BT socket into the handset and the gondola merely acts as a stand for the handset. The handset's button that you can wiggle to get the dialling tone back is merely pushed in by a bump of plastic on the gondola when you hang up. On the previous model this moving button was on the gondola not the handset which is how I spilt coffee on the button. So the extended curly cable shown as "a buy with this item" by Amazon won't work with this phone at all. If you want a longer cable from the gondola to your ear - you simply remove the cable from the groove and fit part of its straight end from nearer to the BT plug into the groove and buy a short extension cable to run from the BT socket to the plug of the phone. For under a tenner I am very pleased.
