Bothy Threads Cross Stitch Kit - Love Tree

Love Tree has been my first cross stitch and I'm so pleased I chose it. The colours are very pretty and it's so satisfying to do. I'm just about finished with the back-stitching, and so just a little detail to go (I'm putting in my family's names instead of the words 'love') and then it's a quick hand-wash and then the beads and sequins to go. The outlining of the flowers and butterflies in brown has made it look just wow, and all the little details are so sweet. I'll be sad when it's all over, but I can't wait to have it framed!There has been more than enough thread (I was careful, although I did have to do a couple of unpickings) on the conveniently labelled thread card. The brown back-stitching is done in a single strand and there's loads left. I made a few mistakes with counting the spaces (drinking wine and yapping with family didn't help with the concentration - but that's my fault, not the design's!).Very enjoyable and great value for money

**Edit** I bought a genuine Bothy Threads kit. Check the seller. If it's coming from China it is a fake and terrible quality. I've seen a few in the cross stitch groups I'm in. Please make sure you buy genuine products. Amazon need to do something about this.This was my first cross stitch. It's a beautiful pattern.You get everything you need to complete it. The design is so clear and easy to read. It also has seperate pages for the back stitching guide. It really has been so carefully thought out and put together. I think all Bothy Threads' kits are the same.The metallic thread was a bit of a nightmare but if you tie a little knot in it it stops it splitting.I added some names to mine as it's a wedding present.I would highly recommend this.

This is a great cross stitch and one that is great for a starter. Orl ike me returning to cross stitch after years. However the trunk is made with a silver metallic thread. Which I find awful and not really very satisfying like the embroidery thread to stitch with. It looks great but it sticks, knots and frays easily...little bit hard work. I like the other designs that go with this and would likely substitute the metalic thread.

Bought as a wedding present. Arrived really quickly, instructions are really detailed & in stages. Maerials all good quality. It's quite easy to go wrong when counting but pattern is forgiving. Definitely recommend

Really enjoyable. Excellent instructions, really easy to follow (though I made a few mistakes but mostly because I made it 20 days - with a full time job!). I edited a little to add the names of my niece’s children. The colours are vibrant and there is more than enough thread. The fabric is good quality.Really loved making it.

Silver thread difficult to stitch with, I would suggest buying the set and replacing the silver with a light grey thread. Lovely set otherwise
