We bought a set of Corelle dinner ware many years ago when we had a caravan and low weight plus resistance to chipping and breaking was more important. We so like the lower weight compared to normal china that we use them every day here at home and this latest purchase was for our daughter after she remarked how much she liked them.

Items were delivered on-time and is good condition - no broken or chipped bowls. Gave them a quick clean than in the dishwasher and ready to use.

Good looking and sturdy

I have recently developed arthritis in both thumbs and to a lesser extent in my whole hands. My current plates, which were not particularly heavy, were still too heavy for me, not only when carrying them but also when washing them up (I haven't got a dishwasher) and turning them over to rinse the backs. I am also a very slow eater, but like hot food, so often microwave my food half way through. Without the microwave bit I would have probably gone for melamine - cheap, cheerful and light, but not microwaveable. I had been thinking of pyrex plates, but really they aren't that light, then, after much research, found these. You can buy whole dinner sets quite easily (even in Argos) but I only needed the dinner plates. All my other crockery is plain white and being smaller than a dinner plate, and not used daily, is quite sufficient. The Corelle plates match in quite well. Also many of the "sets" come with mugs and closer inspection reveals the mugs are earthenware not the glass used for the plates. I have enough mugs to last a lifetime and use only bone china ones for myself. Anyway, the plates arrived today (a day early) and are as light as a feather - I can't wait to use them.

Lightweight but strong. Smooth easy to clean surface and generous space in the bowl.I bought this to replace the plastic bowls in my mothers kitchen. Her and my Grandfather use the plastic bowls and plates as they are light. With their joint issues and arthritis it can be difficult to hold the heavier plates.The only problem with plastic is that the surface eventually gets scratched away and allows a lot of dirt to sit inside it. It also is not as easy to clean and stains very easily and gets discoloured quickly.I bought these corelle bowls as they are lightweight, don't stain and are easy to clean. My mother and grandfather are much happier with it and have even requested that I look into other plates/cups/etc that are like this.
