Extreme value for your buck.
As someone who jumped back into PC building with a focus on heavy RGB and high-performance components, the MSI MPG B650 Edge WiFi Gaming Motherboard has been working strong. From the start, this motherboard has handled my extensive setup with ease, including over 10 RGB fans, internal screens, and other peripherals that demand a ton of power and ports. The port options on this board are outstanding. It has everything you could need plenty of USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, M.2 slots, and SATA 6Gb/s connections. These options made my build a breeze, and I had more than enough room for all my components, from SSDs to RGB headers. The PCIe 4.0 slot is great for future-proofing and ensures that I'm getting the best performance from my GPU. One of the best features has to be its ability to handle heavy loads of RGB. With so many fans and RGB elements in my build, I was worried about managing it all. Especially when it came to the board staying cool. The MSI MPG B650 didn’t even blink! The onboard RGB headers and software make customization a breeze, allowing me to sync everything seamlessly. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are the cherries on top, giving me ultra-fast wireless connectivity without a hitch. The DDR5 support means my system runs buttery smooth, and the AM5 socket has me set up perfectly for my AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processor. If you're into RGB-heavy builds and need a board that can keep up with high-performance setups, this motherboard delivers in every way. Highly recommend for builders who want serious performance without sacrificing aesthetics. No better value for your buck.

Feature full, but pricey.
First time building with an MSI motherboard. I am extremely impressed with its performance and features. This motherboard has exceeded my expectations in every way and has been a great investment for my son's gaming and productivity needs. Firstly, the installation process was very straightforward and easy, with clear instructions and labeled connectors. The build quality of the motherboard is also excellent, with high-quality components and sturdy construction. In terms of performance, this motherboard has not disappointed. It supports the latest AMD Ryzen processors and DDR5 memory, providing lightning-fast speeds and smooth multitasking. Multiple M.2 slots are a great addition, providing ample space for ultra-fast NVMe SSD storage. The built-in Wi-Fi 6 technology is another standout feature, providing fast and reliable wireless connectivity. The Bluetooth 5.2 support is also a great addition, allowing me to easily connect all of my peripherals and devices(once I installed the drivers)! The connectivity options on this motherboard are impressive, with multiple USB 3.2 and USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit LAN, and HDMI and DisplayPort outputs for graphics. This makes it easy to connect all of my devices and peripherals, including my monitor, keyboard, mouse, and external hard drive. The Motherboard also has a sleek and stylish design in a black and silver color scheme. It looks great in my setup and adds a touch of flair to my gaming station. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk WiFi Motherboard. It is a high-performance and feature-rich motherboard that has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new motherboard.

Great motherboard that doesn't break the budget.
I was looking for a board that wasn't insanely priced but still had the features I was looking for. My last 3 motherboards have been MSI so sticking to what I know, I shopped with them first. This board seems to be the perfect middle ground price/quality wise. I updated the BIOS before I did anything else. The boot times are still a tad bit long but from what I've read, theyre working on that and releasing updates pretty regularly. Tuning the ram also helped it boot a little faster for me. The spot where you plug the CPU cables in is a bit tricky to maneuver if your cables are stiff/thick, but I got it done. After that, every thing has been smooth as could be. There are so many features in the BIOS compared to the AM4 board I just came from. I'm not interested in PCIE5 right now so this board not having that wasn't a big deal. I got this paired up with a 7600x and 6800 xt. The built-in WiFi 6 and Bluetooth are just smooth operators. The bios has options to disable one or the other or both if you'd like. I only use the bluetooth myself. DDR 5 is a tad bit confusing compared to DDR 4 but theres a good amount of info out there on how to tune it; I'm learning. It also looks great. There is no rgb which is exactly what I like. Just solid black and white coloring, I'm a big fan of it. The IO shield is preinstalled and for once there are more USB slots than I can fill(so far). Safe to say, this is another MSI purchase that I am more than happy with and I will continue to come back to them in the future.

Powerhouse Gaming Board
Hoh-lee COW! This thing is awesome... I haven't built myself a new PC in over six years. Thankfully, my job purchased new 3D design software that REQUIRES the latest GeForce graphics cards to run. So, I bit the bullet and decided to go high end on everything. THIS board with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU, MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GDRR6X 384-Bit graphics card, a high speed 4 TB M.2 NVMe SSD, and 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and I cannot even keep up. I have started downloading some of the latest graphics intensive games with ray tracing (RTX) and maxing out the settings, but this system doesn't miss a beat. Pros: *Elegant design (looks fantastic in a clear case) *Board runs cool with all the heat syncs installed *Pump controller for liquid cooling is also a HUGE benefit *built in A-RGB controller makes all my fans look amazing synced together *PLENTY of fan connectors *RELIABLE board *simple and intuitive BIOS (compared to Asus or Gigabyte) *Plenty of back panel USB outlets *Easy to read instruction manual (helpful) *Dual NVMe slots for SSDs *EXTRA power connector for high end CPUs *WiFi 6E BUILT IN with bluetooth 5.3 *2.5 GB LAN connection *USB 3.2 Gen 2 type A and C *Decent Audio chip Cons (not much really): *the connection for the PCI-E16 (graphics card) is lower on the board, which is a pro AND a con. It's a PRO because it's easier to access the NVMe if you want to upgrade the SSD. But it's a con because it is so close to the bottom of the case where the power supply is located. It was harder to run cables to the bottom of the motherboard because of this (USB, audio, front panel wires). And there is barely an inch and a half of space between the huge graphics card and the bottom (see photo), and I have a FULL ATX case (side note, I think I will get a custom SERVER case next time... sheesh). Also, if you want to ADD another NVMe SSD, you will have to take OUT the graphics card to get to it. But this is true of other boards as well and can't be helped. *tight space - the heat syncs are so large, it is difficult to plug in the CPU power connector *No USB4 Gen 4 connections (if you even NEED that) Like I said, the cons are really minimal. All in all I HIGHLY recommend this board. It has been running for a week now without ANY issues, and it's the BEST board I've ever had. I think I am MSI for life now...

quality MoBo
For back ground, my son wanted to build a 'cool' computer for his Christmas present. We started looking and buying parts in October '23. Everything arrived on time except the other motherboard that he originally wanted. I haven't built a PC in 15 years so I was a little skeptical when that mobo took months to arrive and didn't arrive until after Jan 1, '24. when we got it, it didn't post and had only one channel of RAM that worked. I opted to do some research separate from what he thought he wanted. I opted to 'recommend' he get this MSI 650 edge. He agreed and I ordered it. It arrived on time and we put everything together. what do you know, it not only worked, but is well built and appears to be running beautifully. Updated the bios immediately upon start up and had no issues. the MSI bios interface was easy to navigate, the only hitch we had was the need to use a thumb drive to pull the wifi drivers down from the web site, not a huge deal, just took a minute to do. Once it was on the network, the windows install was a breeze. overall very positive experience with the seller and the product. will see how it holds up over time.

Incompetent After Purchase Support
The board is fine (I think, maybe not. Still trying to figure it out). Their customer support is incompetent. I ran into trouble with my computer about 10 months after building it. It worked fine the whole time with no hardware issues until about a week ago. One night it worked fine, the next night, no boot. I tested my PSU with a multimeter and everything looked right so I email led MSI since motherboard would be the next thing to test. They were very unhelpful. I very directly asked if the debug lights would turn on if the board was good if all other components were removed—I was trying to narrow down the hardware issues to be the motherboard. They ignored my question for several messages in which I repeatedly asked before finally responding to it: the debug lights won’t turn on if no RAM is plugged in. It will act like there’s now power. That is a terrible design decision that makes it really hard to debug your problems without having duplicate hardware to swap in and out. They were also unable to follow links I sent them. They asked me what hardware I was using and so I listed everything out and included links to Amazon and then they asked, what RAM were you using? I responded with the same link as before and they say that my RAM is incompatible with our board. Try with one from the list we linked. I asked why it would work for 10 months without issue with incompatible RAM and they never attempted to answer that question. I went ahead and bought new RAM to test what they were saying since I wanted to upgrade my RAM anyway and it still does not work! Perhaps this is me seeking recourse for a terrible customer experience, but I don’t think I’ll spend money with MSI if this is how they take care of their customers after purchase. Right now, my best guess is the board is broken and I’ll need to buy a new and MSI will be of no help. UPDATE: I bought a different board and it worked just fine. MSIs warranty service requires you to pay for shipping the board to them, so I guess I'll go and do that now to see if they'll fix it for me.

Paired with a Ryzen 7 7800x3D + TeamGroup 32GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 Ram Kit
Working beautifully, first boot took around 1 minute due to memory training, paired with a ryzen 7 7800x3D, everything's working well so far, I came from another MSI Board with Intel, the B660M Mortar D4 Wifi, that board also was great, didn't have any issues and I liked the BIOS layout. Decided to go with this B650 over a newer B850 because this board had the maturity and reliability I needed and heard it paired well with the 7800x3D due to the strong VRM power design, I trust MSI Motherboard products, enabled AMD Expo and RAM is running at 6000mhz CL30 no issues. I also used Curve optimizer and it's working like a charm! The only thing I noticed was that while I was in BIOS I was on my phone for like 30-40 seconds and once I tried moving my mouse or use the keyboard in the BIOS I had noticed it froze/hanged, I had to power off the PC via power button and after that I went back into the BIOS again and booted into Windows normally, ChatGPT states that it's a very rare glitch that sometimes happen in MSI Motherboard BIOS but nothing to really worry about, I just don't suggest you sitting in BIOS idle, get to it, change what you have to and save and reboot to apply changes. All in all, great, sleek looking Motherboard and so far everything's working great! I bought it July of 2025, the BIOS it came with was from December of 2024. any Bios from 2024 and on should support the 7800x3D out of the box. And if not, it has bios flash button you can use without the CPU or even RAM to update BIOS with a USB thumbdrive.
