Very nice and cool looking device. The only downside the item is small - width is 28 cm (11 inch). This information is clearly displayed in the item description though. The front casing is made of white transparent plastic with glossy finish. Behind the casing there is a set of 9 bright LEDs which engage depending on what mode has been set up using the switch on the back of the device. There are 3 settings: auto, off and music.The most important and obviously the most interesting one is the music mode. When using the device in this setting you can also adjust sensitivity using rotating switch on the side of the device. The specific pairs of LEDs engage accordingly with the frequencies of the sound being generated by any music or sound device .... or yourself, your child or your dog for example.The bar comes with x4 AA batteries. I do not know how long they last for as I simply replaced them with Panasonic (previously Sanyo) Eneloop rechargeable batteries but I would assume as LEDs are not power hungry they should last for some time. Moreover there is also an option of hooking up the AC adaptor as the item is equipped with AC jack input. Unfortunately the adaptor has not been provided.It is very good fun watching how these lights blinking with the music and each pairs react differently depending on low and high frequencies. It was bought for my autistic son who only starts understanding how it works and finds it quite interesting as any sound he makes engages the LEDs - from 1 to full set of lights. Even I myself find it interesting and quite often catch myself watching at this bar. Highly recommended.

Disco time! Bought other disco type lights over the past few years for the young one but this is the best.

The bar is really reactive to sound and my son loved it for Cristmas. He is always playing music with friends and this has been an amusing addition to his room.

within a few minutes of receiving it struggled to work.....

This is really small but very affective in small rooms but if u got other lights don't really see it work
