The color is vibrant and appealing, and the size-1.3 gallon/5 liters-is perfect for fitting neatly on my countertop without taking up too much space. It holds enough for a day or two of regular composting, depending on what we cook. Sometimes we empty it sooner, while other times it lasts several days to even a week, which is very convenient.The bin comes with a lid, which I love for keeping everything contained after depositing vegetable scraps, fruit peels, coffee filters and grounds, eggshells, and other compostable materials. While I made the purchase in winter and haven't experienced fruit flies or ants yet, it does effectively keep regular flies and stinkbugs out. The handle is another thoughtful design feature-it makes it easy to move the bin to my cooking and cutting area while meal prepping, and it's equally handy for carrying outdoors to the compost pile.
