Q: Can this item be used without the messages feature ? also can GPS be switched off?

I've been using the watch with out messenger switch on I think you could switch off GPS. With your mobile phone

Q: Do text messages and WhatsApp messages appear as read on your phone once viewed on the watch and also cleared on your watch once read on your phone?

Q: Would this watch fit an 11 year old girl? Bit concerned the screen will look too big on her wrist

Without being rude, if she is small for her age and has little arms, it may not fit, but if she's a bit bigger with thicker wrists then I don't see why it wouldn't fit. There's lots of different clasp settings, so I think she'd be OK so long as her wrists aren't super skinny & small.
